Aspyr has released the first major update for . While the update fixes over 40 issues, including a 19-year-old bug from the original titles, it neglects the main problem the new collection has been experiencing since its disastrous launch.
Aspyr's patch notes confirmed a fix for an issue had back at its 2005 launch in which Republic and Rebel factions lost two reinforcements instead of one every time one of them died on the Death Star. This was the only level in which this happened, and it didn't occur for the Empire and CIS factions, giving them an advantage. While PC players originally used mods to fix this in the previous titles, PlayStation and Xbox players have had to endure this imbalance for nearly two decades.
Update 1 is available now on Steam, and will be coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles once the submission and certification process has been completed.
While the 40 fixes for control schemes, visuals, Hero Assault's bonus characters Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress, audio, and more are a good start to getting back on track, there are only three fixes noted for Multiplayer, which are listed below:
still sits at an «Overwhelmingly Negative» review score on Steam, however, with many players still expressing frustration with the game's multiplayer. At launch, over 10,000 players tried to access, which the game wasn't prepared for as only three multiplayer servers were online at the time. Each server only allowed up to 64 players, coming to a total of just 192 spaces available.
Aspyr did add more servers since launch, and the Update 1 patch notes did state that it's "", but with one of the major selling points for the title being the return of its beloved multiplayer modes, it's understandable that players are frustrated with the lack of new fixes for these modes in Update 1. Hopefully, Update 2 — which Aspyr is currently planning — will focus more on this side of the game to get the overall experience back on track.

A new update is coming to , which will fix many of the game's biggest launch problems. Capcom's RPG was one of the most anticipated games of 2024, but its launch has been tainted somewhat by issues with game saves, poor performance, and the surprise inclusion of microtransactions upon its launch, which hadn't been disclosed to critics or potential customers beforehand.
With being released later this year, the game is already being rated in some regions. Massive Entertainment's open-world adventure title will introduce a brand-new character, Kay Vess, as she explores the galaxy's criminal underworld, focusing on shady dealings with syndicates rather than the conflict between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance that is often covered around this point in the franchise's timeline.
Some of 's creators have talked about the challenges they faced when developing the game, and how they pulled off the impressive technical feat of making the entire game world physics-driven. Ultimately, such an idea paid off, with Link's Ultrahand ability becoming one of the more entertaining elements of the game, as players could essentially build anything they wanted, with many items ranging from genius to bizarre being shared on social media following the game's launch.
When highly regarded games see a remaster, the quality tends to fluctuate between two extremes. You have the disastrous launches akin to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — Definitive Edition, or you get the lovingly crafted, impressive remasters like we saw with Quake and Quake 2. Aspyr has been working its way through the back catalog of classic Star Wars titles from the IP’s gaming golden age, and the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is the latest of such releases. And unfortunately, this re-release is more GTA than Quake.
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection has released its first patch, just days after its controversial launch. The update to Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection brings a host of fixes across both titles, including changes to the two new Heroes, Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress.
Embattled Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection developer Aspyr has released the game's first post-launch update.
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection hasn't had what anyone could call a good start, launching with major server issues and an enormous file size around eight times the size of both original games put together. Now, though, it's also been claimed that there's another large problem – allegedly, the collection launched with fan-made mod content included, which hasn't been credited.
The recently released Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection may still be using a fan mod for its bonus content, as claimed by the person who originally made it. When it was announced that longtime Star Wars PC port developer Asypr was bringing the first two Battlefront games to modern hardware in the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection, fans were excited. This only increased when it was revealed that the collection would also feature the Xbox-exclusive DLC for Star Wars Battlefront 2, which allowed players to take control of Clone Wars-era fan favorites Asajj Ventress and Kit Fisto.
The features iconic characters from both the original and prequel eras of. is a remake of the original and from the 2000s, with notable improvements to the same maps and game modes. The reviews for the remaster have been mostly negative thus far, with some praise for the single-player but heavily criticizing the poorly optimized multiplayer.
