Square Enix has been in the habit of promoting its more prominent game developers and directors to give them higher positions within the company, and it’s now handed similar promotions to another batch of key figures, all of whom have been made executive officers.
That includes Naoki Hamaguchi (game director of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth), Tomoya Asano (producer of Bravely Default, Octopath Traveler, Triangle Strategy, and more), and others. They join a list of executive officers that already includes the likes of Yoshinori Kitase and Naoki Yoshida.
As executive officers, developers within Square Enix hold greater authority in their divisions, and larger responsibilities to execute on the Board’s decisions. You can view the full list of Square Enix executive officers below (via Gematsu):
