Sony confirms LittleBigPlanet 3 shutdown, months after it was ‘temporarily’ taken offline

Nintendo 3DS and Wii U servers were shut down almost a month ago, but eight dedicated players who refuse to turn off their systems are, miraculously, still online and holding on to both consoles, beating a record long held by the final Halo 2 superfans. 

Helldivers 2 players have found massive tunnels on Terminid planets after the latest patch. Helldivers 2, a cooperative third-person shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, has gotten a lot of attention for its intense gameplay and ongoing updates. Set in a dystopian future, players battle against alien forces across various planets, facing formidable enemies like Bile Titans, Hive Lords, and plenty more.

Stellar Blade was the best-selling physical game in the UK last week, with its launch sales on PS5 being enough to see it top sales charts in the region. Sony and Shift Up haven't shared any official sales data just yet, but this marks a good start for the title, which holds the potential to sell well long-term. TopSpin 2K25 was another new entry in the UK sales chart last week, debuting in third place.

Yesterday, coinciding with the release of the Thrones of Decay DLC, Total War: Warhammer 3 jumped 90 places in the Steam charts, trailed closely by the three lord packs that make up the strategy game's latest expansion. Those lord packs are now the three top rated expansions in the series’ history, and the base game itself saw a huge uptick in positive reviews. The last day also saw a peak player count of around 66,000, putting it ahead of giants like Palworld, Rimworld, and Fallout 76. None of this would be especially notable, however, if this wasn’t a complete turnaround from how things have been for the best part of a year now.

Yu-Gi-Oh! just broke the Guinness World Record for the most entrants in a trading card game tournament, shattering its own record. This year, 7,443 people took part in the 10th Yu-Gi-Oh! Champion Series Japan tournament held at the Tokyo Big Sight.

Popular WWE 2k24 modder Status was banned from the game and their creations taken offline earlier this week, with an in-game message stating that the cause was violation of the game's End User License Agreement. It’s been barely a month since the reboot of horror classic Alone in the Dark arrived, but it looks like developers Pieces Interactive are now making a number of layoffs in the wake of its release.

Left-handed Counter-Strike 2 players, time to raise that left hand in what could be interpreted as a celebration. In the game's latest update, Valve have added the ability to swap from the default right-handed viewmodel to a left-handed one. 2K is facing a community backlash, following its decision to ban a popular WWE 2K24 creator.

The next update for Payday 3 will finally add quickplay and player merging to the game, developer Starbreeze Studios announced seven months after the troubled shooter was released. The previous update, 1.1.1, for the Deep Silver-published game introduced more than 300 bug fixes, a new hardcore challenge, and improved gameplay performance.
