More Snapdragon X CPU-powered laptops are surfacing with the latest one being the Microsoft Surface 6 & Dell Inspiron 14 series.
We have previously seen Lenovo and HP laptops powered by Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon X CPUs leak out. The company recently expanded its Snapdragon X CPU lineup with the new "X PLUS" variants which are the more mainstream offerings versus the higher-end "X ELITE" designs & we're expecting to see these chips inside various laptop designs.
Let's start with the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 products which will come in 15" & 13.5" models. Both variants will feature the higher-end Snapdragon X Elite SKUs such as the X1E-84-100 and X1E-80-100.
The graphics chip will be based on the Qualcomm Adreno architecture and both models can be configured with a range of memory and storage configurations. For the 13.5" variant, you get 8-16 GB of LPDDR5x memory and 256-512 GB SSD capacities while the 15" variant gets you 8-16-32 GB LPDDR5x memory and 256-512-1024 GB SSD capacities.
Coming to the display, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 13.5" variant will feature a 13.5" PixelSense display with a maximum resolution of 2256 x 1504 (201 PPI) while the 15" variant will feature a 15" Pixel Sense Display with a maximum resolution of 2496 x 1664 (201 PPI). Both models will come in a 3:2 aspect ratio, feature a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 panel, and a maximum brightness of 400 nits. All models will have up to 21-22 hours of battery time in typical usage. I/O will include 2 USB Type-C 4.0 (TB4) ports, a single USB 3.1 Type-A port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Surface Connect port.
The Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 13.5" variant will measure 308x223x16.7mm & weigh 1342 grams while the 15" variant will measure 340x244x16.9mm & weigh 1592 grams. The prices of these models are yet to be detailed.
In addition to the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 designs, Dell is also working on its own Inspiron 14 Plus laptops featuring the Snapdragon X Elite CPUs. One such model has been spotted within the Geekbench database with the X1E-80-100 12-core CPU, configured with 16 GB of LPDDR5x DRAM and it looks like we can expect more models, especially those based on the Snapdragon X Plus CPU models.
