Rayman Is Getting His Very Own Board Game, Launching Before The End Of 2024

Fans of various video game series continue to suffer through a lack of new installments coming anytime soon. Amazon's Fallout adaptation, for example, has reminded us how long we are going to be waiting for Fallout 5. At least Bethesda has confirmed there's something to look forward to on the video game landscape. Rayman fans have had nothing major for more than a decade, and even though a lifeline was thrown their way this week, it isn't a new video game.
Yes, Rayman is getting a new game in 2024, but it's a board game. No, it might not be what most Rayman fans have been waiting for, but it's still exciting. There are some fantastic tabletop adaptations of video games out there, and if Rayman's offering is good enough, it may well join our guide to the very best out there. No firm release date for Rayman the Board Game - just a vague Q3 2024 release window - and how exactly it will work is being kept under wraps, but the first details have been revealed.
A first look at the artwork for the game confirms Rayman will be joined by Globox as a playable character and since it can be played by up to five people at once, there will presumably be at least three more characters from the Rayman video games joining them. Players will be tasked with rescuing Teensies, a race of characters that have been ever-present in the series since Rayman 2. The Glade Of Dreams, the world in which all Rayman video games take place, is the backdrop, and it's recommended for anyone between the ages of seven and 77. Bad news for anyone who's about to turn 78.
Rayman the Board Game has been created by FLYOS, a tabletop company with a lot of promising previous having created The Lab and Survive Until Daylight. It also has prior experience when it comes to turning a video game into an entertaining board game, Vampire The Masquerade Chapters a part of its back catalog. FLYOS has worked with Maxime Tardif - of Earth and BrilliAnts fame - on the Rayman game's design.
While a price and exact release date hasn't yet been revealed, you can make sure you're among the first to know when those details are confirmed by subscribing to Rayman the Board Game's mailing list. The iconic video game mascot joins Warhammer 40,000: Darktide which will also be getting a tabletop adaptation before the end of 2024.
