PS Plus Essential, Extra, Premium Price Increases Announced by Sony | Push Square

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has come away with the most viewed trailer of Sony's latest State of Play livestream, completely dwarfing the numbers Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has managed to record. At the time of writing, the PS5 game has got 2.5 million views on its new Expanded Marvel's New York trailer, which is considerably more than any other trailer included in the presentation combined on the PlayStation YouTube channel.

Square Enix has announced that those who played PS5, PS4 game Final Fantasy VII Remake will be treated to «special bonuses» when they boot up Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Tracked through your save data, this is being done because the publisher isn't carrying over levels or abilities. As such, the bonus items are just a «little something extra».

Sony has today announced the full list of PS5, PS4, and Classic games coming to PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium this month. A partial selection was leaked at the start of this week, but the complete lineup is significantly larger. This is also the first title refresh since Sony increased the price of both tiers, putting the company's picks under more scrutiny.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Dragon's Crown developer Vanillaware has announced its next game is a stunning tactical RPG that goes by the name of Unicorn Overlord. It's coming to PS5 and PS4 on 8th March 2024, and you can check out the announcement trailer above.

Another State of Play showcase from Sony has now been and gone, this time sharing news for previously revealed indie and third-party games. A fairly low-key affair for saying it was only the second general State of Play livestream of 2023, but there were a few announcements and reveals to take note of.

Baldur's Gate 3 is out now for PS5, and after bagging itself a Metacritic rating of 96 on PC, it's currently doing one point better on Sony's console. The PS5 version currently commands a 97 on the website, making it the highest-rated game on the system to date. The caveat, of course, is this is only based on nine reviews. However, given the widespread love for the RPG, we doubt the rating is going to drop very much.

Outright Games has revealed it's developing a sequel to the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem movie as a game for PC and consoles, launching next year. It will be set months after the events of the film and feature visuals inspired by the big-screen flick.

Indie RPG Sea of Stars has continued to sell well since developer Sabotage revealed it's shifted 100,000 copies, to the point where it's already beaten the studio's sales expectations for the entire year. The game has now sold over 250,000 units despite being available on PS Plus Extra and Xbox Game Pass. It'll be full price on PC and Nintendo Switch, or you could still opt to pay the £28.99 / $34.99 on PS5, PS4.

The Yakuza and Like a Dragon experiences are famed for including built-in side games that could probably exist on the PS Store all by themselves, and the upcoming Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name looks to be no different. Today SEGA has detailed what you can get up to off the main path, and it includes competing in the Coliseum, talking to some lovely ladies at the Cabaret Club, playing Pocket Circuit, and taking part in karaoke.

Hogwarts Legacy and Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon have swapped positions with one another to hand the Harry Potter simulator a top spot in the latest UK physical sales charts, while FromSoftware's mech game slips to fifth. The only new entry this week is at least an interesting one: the Premium Edition Upgrade for Starfield. This is a code in a box that grants five days of early access to the Bethesda RPG as well as the first story expansion, and it managed to rank seventh last week.

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture team The Chinese Room has been confirmed as the new studio behind the troubled Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2, with an updated release window set for late 2024. It's unclear how much of the work original developer Hardsuit Labs put into the project will carry over into the final version, but you can catch a new trailer above.
