Presumably while calling its lawyers, Rockstar responded to the GTA 6 trailer leak: "Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing"

Last year's GTA 6 leak cost Rockstar $5 million plus "thousands of hours of staff time," the developer told a UK court. 

Early in December, Rockstar Games ended years of restless anticipation when it finally officially unveiled Grand Theft Auto 6, and though the game is still a ways off from launch, excitement surrounding it is already at a fever pitch.

The record-breaking GTA 6 trailer is packed full of details (IGN spotted 99!), but one that’s gone under the radar is a cool nod to Rockstar’s previous game.

Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) finally got its first trailer earlier this month (December 4), and while it arrived to much applause, there was at least one person who didn't look upon it so favorably. 

Dead by Daylight's ghastly universe is slowly spinning open with the brand-new interactive horror game The Casting of Frank Stone, developers Behaviour Interactive and Until Dawn creators Supermassive Games revealed in a trailer at The Game Awards 2023.

In this day and age, it can sometimes be difficult to believe what you're seeing. This is especially true in the games industry, which has seen multiple controversies surrounding games, such as the first Watchdogs and Killzone 2, that have had rather misleading trailers in terms of graphics and fidelity. That apparently won't be the case with the recently revealed Grand Theft Auto 6 though, as an ex-Rockstar developer has assured fans that the game will look just as good as its stunning trailer.

Grand Theft Auto 6's highly-anticipated trailer was released earlier this week, though you probably didn't need to be told that at this point. What you may not know is that fans quickly discovered a lot of the wacky scenes from the trailer are actually based on real-life people and events that occurred in the state of Florida. One such example is the purple-haired convict with tattoos all over his face, a reference to the infamous Florida Joker whose mug shot went viral back in 2017.

Now that the initial disappointment over why we got the GTA 6 trailer early has begun to fade, plenty have begun to unpick the trailer to discover what teases lay in store. Plenty of fans are doing the work, but some former Rockstar devs have also joined in to offer an exciting glimpse of what’s to come. 

Here’s a bit of an understatement- there’s a fair bit of excitement surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6. The long-awaited open world behemoth was officially unveiled by Rockstar earlier this week (a day ahead of time, owing to unfortunate leaks), and within the first day, the reveal trailer had surpassed 96 million views on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel. And, unsurprisingly, that momentum has continued.

The recently-released trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 was officially released following a leak, prompting developer Rockstar Games to release the trailer earlier than it had planned. Soon after the dust had settled with the trailer’s release, however, several developers from the studio have voiced their disappointment about the trailer being leaked.
