PowerWash Simulator blasts onto VR in November

An upcoming management game will challenge you to build and expand an ancient academy of magic, exploring the vast dungeon beneath it known only as the Underschool in order to stave off a deadly fog. In Mind Over Magic you'll construct a magic school in cutaway view, staffing it with teachers and populating it with students ready to learn.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is a known quantity by now. An immaculate and widely acclaimed aircraft simulator with the sort of pedigree that almost no other modern gaming franchise could compare with, and one that’s due for a comprehensive 2024 update to make it even better. But that’s not even close to the full story, as Parallel 42’s wacky Juice Goose third-party DLC can attest to. Indeed, it would appear that some enterprising devs have been working in the background to redefine what Microsoft Flight Sim can and cannot do.

Simulation Games. You know they exist because there are just…so many out there. No, really, there are a lot of them as our title for this list states quite clearly. But the reason there are so many is that many people get into them so they can try out things that they won’t do in the real world, or to experience something they can’t in reality. Originally revealed during the June Meta Quest Gaming Showcase, PowerWash Simulator VR finally has a solid release date, and it’s not too far away. This indie darling took the world by storm when it first released and now it’s heading into the virtual world, and we can’t think of a more perfect fit.

PowerWash Simulator VR will be heading to the Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 on November 2. The developer FuturLab revealed anew trailer for the virtual reality spray-fest today.

Hairdresser Simulator will be available both for PC and console players! Get your gamepads ready for the release and immerse yourself in the creative world of hairstyling, using your favorite gaming platform. The game will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Developers aim to launch PC and console versions at the same time in the first quarter of 2024.

Team17 Digital and Trepang Studios have today launched grisly, supernatural action-shooter Trepang2 on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S following the game’s explosive debut on PC earlier in the year. A spiritual successor to the fast-paced and over-the-top first-person shooters of the mid-2000s, Trepang2 on consoles pairs high-octane, 60-frames-per-second first-person gun-fu gameplay with a devastating heavy metal soundtrack as players embark on a supernatural journey of death, destruction, and corporate conspiracies. 

Even as the world burns, the wheels on Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop just keep going round and round. People have got places to be! And a virtual bus service is one thing but, in-line with others of its Simulator ilk, the game's sleeper hit nature means developer Stillalive Studios is adding officially licensed buses to the game.

If you’re a history and government nerd like me, you’d probably be hard pressed to find a franchise that better appeals to your love of society building and tough moral quandaries than Frostpunk. Thankfully, developer 11 Bit Studios is cooking up another depressing city management simulator with Frostpunk 2, and from the 30-minute demo I saw, they appear to be doubling down on gut-wrenching decisions and brutal difficulty, and it’s got me positively giddy to get my hands on it. The demo I saw was focused solely on the freeplay mode called “Utopia Builder,” so any details of the dedicated story mode remain a mystery, but after seeing the fascinating new direction they’re taking that focuses on politics, faction management, and greatly expanded building, I’m already extremely excited to don my winter jacket and dive back into a fresh new layer of apocalyptic snow.

Builder Simulator joins the long line of simulation games, with the promise of a greater level of depth and detail for fans to create the house of their dreams, build it and then decorate and furnish it. So is this the cement of a solid simulation, or just a pile of rubble.
