The discrepancy in the pricing of Pokemon GO's Rocket Box has infuriated fans, who are now deciding against purchasing it. The Rocket Box has been a point of contention in the past, and it seems like this new iteration also hasn't gone down well in the Pokemon GO community.
While the past few weeks have been quite eventful for Pokemon GO fans with a series of events taking place, some of them have been quite controversial. For instance, the most recent backlash was due to Pokemon GO's Verdant Wonders event. While Mythical and Legendary Pokemon events are eagerly awaited by the community, fans were unhappy about the pricing, as the Pokemon could only be unlocked upon purchasing a $7.99 ticket. What made things even worse was the fact that Zarude was previously available for free. Now, it seems like Niantic is once again under the scanner for the World of Wonders: Taken Over event.
In a new post on the Pokemon GO subreddit, user Vivvnak expresses their disappointment towards the pricing of the Rocket Box available in-game. As per a blog post on the official Pokemon GO website, the Rocket Box was slated to be priced at 300 Pokecoins, but it seems like upon release, the price was increased to 315 Pokecoins. While Niantic has now updated its website to reflect the new price, the uncalled increase in price has once again upset players. This is not the only item fans have lately expressed their concerns about, as the contents of Pokemon GO's Expert and Veteran boxes were heavily criticized as well.
While one might wonder what warranted a mere 15 Pokecoin increase in price, the community seems to have an interesting take on it. Apparently, Niantic always prices these items in a way that players are short of a few Pokecoins, compelling them to purchase the in-game currency. Considering that players get a maximum of 50 Pokecoins per day by defending gyms inPokemon GO, many think that the price of the Rocket Box not being a multiple of 50 will ensure that more players don't have enough free coins to make the purchase.
In fact, a player reached out to Niantic Support to check if the pricing was accurate, and it was corroborated that the Rocket Box indeed costs 315 Pokecoins. That being said, others seem to be not that bothered about the change, since they believe that the Rocket Box wasn't a good deal to begin with. Precisely, the presence of an Incubator seems to ward off many players considering that the Pokemon GO community isn't too fond of hatching eggs. While Niantic does emphasize the 30% discount on the product, it seems like the value it offers needs to be more significant to attract players.
After a test run via an April Fools' joke on Google Maps, Pokemon GO was released to the public in the summer of 2016.

Honkai: Star Rail players have voiced their frustration over the game's relic system, claiming it's unrewarding and restrictive. There are two types of relic sets in Honkai: Star Rail, Planar Ornaments and Cavern Relics. Planar Ornaments, which can be placed in the Planar Sphere and Link Rope slots, serve as additional gear and provide some rare stats. Cavern Relics, on the other hand, boost the character's main stats like HP and ATK. Unlike Planar Ornaments, they have a 4-piece effect that makes the wearer even more powerful.
Helldivers 2's meta might change significantly in the near future, with the developers suggesting a possibility of melee weapons being introduced to the game. However, different Poke Ball types have been added to the augmented reality mobile game in the years since it first released.
