As Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League nears its launch, developer Rocksteady has confirmed that the game's post-launch DLC will bring iconic DC villain Joker as a playable character. The studio made the announcement Monday in the third episode of its Suicide Squad Insider developer diary series, detailing its plans for delivering free post-launch seasonal content to players who buy the game, multiversal concepts and a few multiplayer features that will be present at launch. According to Rocksteady, each post-launch season will feature two episodes and will follow the theme of a DC villain, bringing new ways to play. The new announcement follows the developers teasing hundreds of character builds and distinct loadouts earlier this month.

Rocksteady Games just released a new trailer highlighting the unique features that Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will be getting on PlayStation 5. Honestly, you can probably guess what these unique features are.
As reported by GameRant, these are the 3D Audio exclusive to PlayStation 5 Pulse headsets, and the special features on the DualSense controllers.
The DualSense’s haptic feedback will allow you to feel the waves of pressure created by explosions that you or your enemies created near you. On the other hand, the adaptive triggers will make you feel it when you’re using Captain Boomerang’s signature weapons, or you are just popping enemies off with Deadshot’s dead on-target aim.
Lastly, 3D Audio will give you enhanced surround sound, but of course, you are going to have to buy yourself a pair of PlayStation 5 Pulse headsets to enjoy that.
If you were interested in getting this title, it is a decent pitch to pick Sony’s platform. The Xbox Series X|S controller doesn’t have these features. Of course, there are plenty of gamers who don’t care about these enhancements either. It’s not so much that gamers are likely to switch from one console to another, but they may choose to get this game on PC, particularly, waiting out a Steam sale.
In any case, Rocksteady really has to worry more whether they can sustain interest in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League in general. They are trying hard to now pitch the game as the continuation of the Arkhamverse timeline, but have two really huge roadblocks in the way.
The first was the persistent bad impressions that their own game previews have made in gamers’ minds. A particular promotional trailer from a PlayStation Showcase from last year, surprisingly enough, was what turned fans against the game. But the issue fans saw was not in graphics, performance, or even story, but the gameplay that they actually demonstrated.
The other roadblock, of course, were the leaks that made its way before the year ended. To Rocksteady’s benefit, the impact of these leaks have been blunted. This is partly because of the even larger and more consequential Insomniac ransomware hack. But more importantly, the leaks were discredited when the leaker admitted they made up some details because they didn’t really know.
So Rocksteady has an opportunity to still turn the narrative around in the coming weeks, but the clock is ticking as we speak. This was a nice little pitch, but hardly enough to facilitate that turnaround.
