Pedro Pascal Reportedly Finished Filming The Last Of Us Season 2 Already

The Last of Us' first season wrapped up in 2023, but another is already in production, adapting the second game. Interestingly, Pedro Pascal (Joel Miller) reportedly finished filming this week. If you know, you know.

In the second game, Joel takes a golf club to the cranium courtesy of one Abby Anderson. It's revealed that the lead surgeon working to find a cure using Ellie's immunity was Abby's dad, and in the bombastic guns-blazing finale of the original game, Joel killed him. So, in retaliation, Abby kills Joel.
It happens fairly early on in The Last of Us Part 2, so if Pascal is done with filming already, it looks like the show is staying pretty faithful to that controversial scene. Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart, Dear Evan Hansen, Next Goal Wins) was cast as Abby back in January, so we even know who will kill Joel.
We don't know when the next series will release but fans are already mourning the gruff, morally dubious and slightly gun-happy dad.
Others - the ones who haven't played the games and managed to stay spoiler-free - are a bit confused, wondering if he's been relegated to the role of a side character or if he'll be absent until season three. They're in for one hell of a shock, huh?
Fans are still so angry at Abby killing Joel that her face model Jocelyn Mettler receives death threats to this day.
Of course, we'll see Pascal plenty elsewhere as he's confirmed to be playing Reed Richards in the MCU's Fantastic Four movie, while he's also set to star in Gladiator 2, Drive-Away Dolls, Freaky Tales, The Wild Robot, and The Uninvited, all releasing this year. That's not to mention the upcoming Mandalorian and & Grogu movie slated for 2026.
As for Joel, we all knew this day was coming. Some fans buried their heads in the sand and hoped the show would divert from the source material and keep Joel alive, but if Pascal has already wrapped up filming, it looks all but confirmed that his iconic golf retreat will grace our TVs soon.
