A brief new trailer for Nintendo’s upcoming Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is available on Twitter, courtesy of Nintendo of America. While it features some familiar scenes from the announcement trailer, two new additions highlight the RPG’s signature humor. Check them out below.
The first is a scene with the X-Nauts, with their second-in-command, Lord Crump, interesting the group to mob Mario and Goombella. The second sees the latter speaking to Goombella’s professor, who is unaware of Mario’s superstar status (to the latter’s embarrassment). These are only a handful of memorable moments on the long journey to rescue Princess Peach and unravel the secret of the Thousand-Year Door.
As a remake of the 2004 GameCube classic,Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door launches on May 23rd for Nintendo Switch and has a file size of 5.1 GB per the eShop. Check out the remade intro here, which features gorgeous new visuals and animations to bring the backstory to life.

Private Division has finally unveiled the first trailer for Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game.
A Mario Kart 8 Deluxe study has found the best combination of playable character and customizable vehicle build, with the most optimal option being Peach with a Teddy Buggy. The Mario Kart franchise has had a history of character tiers, where certain playable characters end up outclassing others in the game. These tiers are usually based on the most optimal character to hit the top speed, accelerate, and handle on the track. Heavyweight characters have traditionally been the most common choice for expert Mario Kart players, as seen with characters like Bowser in Super Mario Kart or Funky Kong and the Flame Runner in Mario Kart Wii.
Lord of the Rings fans won’t have to wait too long for their next journey to the Shire.
Given the reputation Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door continues to enjoy to this day, two decades on from its GameCube launch, the level of excitement surrounding the release of its upcoming Nintendo Switch remake isn’t surprising in the slightest. And as the RPG draws closer to launch, Nintendo is continuing to show more bits and pieces.
