Amid reports of Overwatch’s 2 PvE likely not getting any new missions, game director Aaron Keller shared some positive news on the latest Developer Update. He first confirmed that Venture, a new Damage dealer, is coming with Season 10 and can burrow underground.
However, players will no longer need to grind through the Battle Pass or purchase the Premium version to unlock them. That’s right – Venture and other upcoming heroes will be free for all players, like in Overwatch 1. If you’ve played Overwatch 2 since launch, then previous heroes like Mauga, Illari, Lifeweaver, Kiriko and so on will also be freely playable in Season 10.
The catch is that if you’re new to the game, you still need to push through the new player experience, which involves playing matches to unlock the base roster. Once they’re all available, heroes added in the sequel will immediately follow.
Overwatch 2’s Season 10 is out in April, though a release date hasn’t been confirmed. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
