Minecraft Bedrock Edition has added five new paintings as part of preview 1.21.0.21, and one of them has a clever reference to a famous real-life painting. Minecraft often releases snapshots for Java players to test upcoming features. But Bedrock players aren't left behind, and Mojang's sandbox rolls out the same features via previews.
Minecraft players tested features such as the new Ominous Event and Ominous Trial Key, four new mob effects, and adjustments to Breeze in preview 1.21.0.20. Preview 1.20.80.22 added the Mace, Minecraft's new melee weapon, along with additional armor trims, banner patterns, and pottery shards for players to obtain. A change celebrated by the community, preview 1.20.80.21 added the eight new wolf variations that Minecraft Java players had tested in one of the snapshots. Minecraft Bedrock has now received a new preview, and it includes a neat reference.
Minecraft has released preview 1.21.0.21 for Bedrock Edition, adding five new paintings, one referencing the famous painting American Gothic. Minecraft players were quick to notice that one of the new paintings, which shows two villagers posing side by side with the village in the background, is a reference to Grant Wood's American Gothic painting. Created in 1930, Wood's work depicts a man and a woman in front of a house and is one of the most famous paintings of the 20th century. The other paintings that Minecraft players can craft include one based on pack.png, an image known for being the icon of the default texture pack.
The five new Minecraft paintings are called Baroque, Humble, Meditative, Prairie Ride, and Unpacked, and were created by Sarah Boeving. Bedrock players can also finally try out the new Mace, Wind Burst, Density, and Breach enchantments, added in a recent Minecraft Java snapshot. Another new feature in preview 1.21.0.21 is the Raid Omen mob effect, which lasts 30 seconds, and after it expires causes a Raid to start in the location where the player gained the effect. Mojang has also made adjustments to the new Trial Chamber structure and the Trial Spawner block, accessibility and interface adjustments, and the Hardcore Mode death screen, which only in the preview shows the option «Spectate World.»
The new Minecraft paintings are currently available only on Bedrock, with Java players receiving the update soon. With this new round of content and tweaks, Mojang continues to prepare the path for the arrival of Minecraft update 1.21, which is much anticipated due to the wide range of features it will add to the game.
