Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to receive its long-awaited New Game Plus mode in a free update on March 7, and in a lengthy update on the PlayStation Blog, Insomniac Games has revealed the finer details on everything else the update will add to the game.
In addition to New Game Plus, the update will also bring the ability to replay specific missions, a harder difficulty option, and new unlockables in the form of Ultimate Levels, Golden Gadget styles, and more. Additionally, the update will also bring Marvel’s Hellfire Gala suits to the game for both Peter and Miles, with the former’s design created by Russell Dauterman, and the latter’s based on Bernard Chang’s Hellfire Gala variant cover for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #8.
On top of the new suits, Insomniac is also adding suit variants to all of Peter’s symbiote suits, as well as the ability to select the colour of your symbiote abilities. Photo mode is also getting new options, like action figure mode, new stickers, and the ability to change time of day (if you’ve finished the main story, that is).
New accessibility features are also being added in the form of audio descriptions, screen reader, cinematic captions, high contrast outlines, and more.
Additionally, separately from the upcoming free update, starting March 7, Insomniac will also start offering two new paid suits for purchase. Made in collaboration with Gameheads, the Fit N’ Fresh suits will be available for $4.99, and up to April 5, Sony will donate of each suit pack sold (up to $1 million in total) to “support Gameheads’ mission of empowering low-income youth and youth of color to thrive in the video games industry”. In addition to a new suit each for Peter and Miles, the pack will also include 10 photo mode stickers and two photo mode frames.
And these suits won’t be paid for long. Insomniac says, “Don’t worry, we don’t plan to start charging for suits in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2; the Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack will be available at no additional cost to all players at a later date.”
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available on PS5. It has sold 10 million units worldwide, while the Marvel’s Spider-Man series sits at a total of 50 million units sold to date.

A concept trailer for Insomniac’s canceled Spider-Manmultiplayer game has just leaked online, giving fans a glimpse into what the ambitious project could have been like. Insomniac’s series of open-world Spider-Man games have earned critical acclaim from fans of Marvel’s legendary web slinger, starting with the successful Marvel’s Spider-Man back in 2018. Both he and Peter Parker returned as playable characters in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 last year, facing off against deadly villains like Venom and Kraven the Hunter while struggling with their own personal demons.
Following Insomniac Games’ massive data breach in December, it emerged that the studio had been working on a live service multiplayer Spider-Man game called Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Great Web, which was eventually scrapped by Sony. Now, a trailer for the cancelled game has emerged online, offering a look at what it was being pitched at prior to being shelved.
