Marvel's Spider-Man 2 actor says they want to play Peter Parker "forever" - if Insomniac let them

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 — out next Friday on PS5 — is easily one of our most anticipated titles of the year, building upon Insomniac Games' original blockbuster tale to weave a new line for our spandex-wearing web crawlers. Yep, true to the name, this time we get to play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, as they team up to neutralise various new threats to New York City, which include the monstrous symbiote Venom and the beast-like Kraven the Hunter. In addition to refining web-swinging and chained flowy combat — a selling point for 2018's Spider-Man — the sequel has nearly doubled the size of its open-world playground, albeit in ways that traversal never feels tedious.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 fans are loving new looks at both the Moon and Shadow Spidey suits, but it's the former that has some interesting history.

They say that “clothes make the man” or woman; both are fair to use here. But no matter your clothes, they’ll likely never compare to the stylish outfits superheroes adorn while in the field. Technically speaking, the costumes of superheroes only matter a slight bit in their fight against crime. Some of their outfits are meant to invoke a feeling in others they save or ones they fight. Sometimes, they’re a key layer of protection against foes, and sometimes, they like to have a “unified” look with their teammates. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will have numerous outfits for your Spider-Men to wear, no matter your style.

When Insomniac created a version of the Marvel universe for their title with Spider-Man, many wondered just how “intertwined” the video game would be with the Marvel-616 comics universe. As we would find out in Marvel’s Spider-Man…it wasn’t that intertwined at all. For example, instead of showing the origins of Peter Parker, they skipped eight years into his career, where he had already faced many villains and put several away, including Kingpin, at the start of the game. Norman Osborne was the mayor of New York City and NOT the Green Goblin, and Peter was working side-by-side with his mentor, Dr. Otto Octavius.
