LittleBigPlanet 3's Servers Are Going Offline "Indefinitely"

LittleBigPlanet 3's servers are officially being taken offline "indefinitely", meaning that players will no longer have access to millions of user-created levels. R.I.P. to all the shark survival levels that made up my childhood, I'll miss you more than you know.
PlayStation has introduced plenty of figureheads for its platform over the past few console generations, from more adult mascots like Nathan Drake and Joel Miller to child-friendly heroes like Astro Bot. In my mind, though, there's one that reigns supreme above all of them - Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet.
Ever since the first game released on PS3, Sackboy has become one of the most beloved PlayStation characters of all time and has had quite the lineup of games that focused on creation, sharing, adventure, and, most importantly, fun. Sackboy and LittleBigPlanet are huge parts of PlayStation's history over the past two decades, but it looks like they're both just going to become a fond memory.
Since January 2024, LittleBigPlanet 3's servers have been offline due to technical issues, meaning that players were unable to play with friends or access the many user-created levels that are the backbone of LittleBigPlanet as a whole. All three mainline games have great single-player campaigns, sure, but the reason the series is so beloved is because of all the wild levels fans have created over the years.
Although LittleBigPlanet's servers have been messy for a while now and fans have been worried about the game eventually being taken offline, most assumed that the issues that popped up in January would be fixed and that they'd at least have some warning before more than half of the game became inaccessible. Sadly, that isn't the case.
"Due to ongoing technical issues which resulted in the LittleBigPlanet 3 serves for PS4 being taken offline temporarily in January 2024, the decision has been made to keep the serves offline indefinitely. All online services including accessing other players' creations for LittleBigPlanet 3 are no longer available".
Over on Twitter, the official LittleBigPlanet account revealed that the decision has been made to keep the servers offline indefinitely, which means that players will no longer be able to play the millions of user-created levels across the three mainline games. That just leaves the single-player campaigns and whatever levels you've got saved on your own account, essentially killing off all of LittleBigPlanet's online functions.
Although the Twitter account says that the servers will be offline "indefinitely", which could one day mean they get switched back on again, it seems incredibly likely that this is the end of LittleBigPlanet as we know it, and that it's not going to be making a comeback

However, Sony has stated that due to the ongoing difficulties the LittleBigPlanet 3 servers will remain offline forever. This now means that there are now no LittleBigPlanet games online, which means players can no longer access the millions of levels that have been created over the years.

Just under 10 years since its release, LittleBigPlanet 3‘s servers have been taken down. Sony confirmed that the servers for the game, which were originally offline temporarily in January 2024, will be kept offline indefinitely.
