The barrage of TV — and great TV — continues apace in 2024, with plenty of intriguing new and returning shows launching their seasons this week.

For whatever reason, the internet seems to love mountain-climbing games. Some of the most viral games of the last several years on platforms like Twitch have been titles like Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy and Only Up! — games where it’s difficult to climb up something and the punishment for failure is massive. MediaCity Games has dropped a new brain-tickler called Atomic Escape. It’s a space-age point-and-click game set in a retro sci-fi world. It’s out on Android for $1.99. In case you don’t know, MediaCity Games has dropped games that show their knack for puzzle adventures. Their lineup includes Escape from Crimson Manor Ep.1, Alice Beyond Wonderland, The Ghost Town Treasure and The Lost Fountain.

The big “E3” announcement season (E3 is dead, but you know what I mean) is almost here, and Microsoft has officially staked out their spot. Taking place in early June, the Xbox Games Showcase will feature games from Microsoft’s full portfolio of developers, including “Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, Xbox Game Studios” and even some third-party publishers. Interestingly, like last year with Starfield, this will be a “double feature” with a main showcase, and a “Direct” which will dive deeper on a specific game.

Bandai Namco has revealed its roadmap for Tekken 8 throughout the rest of 2024, including the game’s second DLC character, new story, and plenty more.

If it weren’t enough to see Bandai Namco announce free updates and new story content for Tekken 8 this year, it also outlined its roadmap for Season 1 DLC fighters. When are we finally going to get a release date for the Silent Hill 2 remake? The game is widely expected to launch sometime in 2024, but PR from Konami has been spotty at best. We got a somewhat-questionable trailer back in February (that even developer Bloober Team criticized as not representative of the final game) and as we head deeper into the year, there’s still a lot to be nailed down. The game’s been rated by the ESRB and there are rumors it may pop up at a PlayStation Showcase next month, but Konami themselves have remained silent.

Sandman spinoff comics have starred Dream’s sister Death, the strange denizens of the Dreaming, and even Lucifer himself, leading to the the cult success of an entire LuciferTV series years before a Netflix series adapting The Sandman itself.

A gamer created their own version of the Master Cycle Zero in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The Nintendo-developed game offers players the ability to construct various objects to aid them in their adventures through the vast and open world of Hyrule.

, the long-running post-apocalyptic franchise's online multiplayer title, has seen a major resurgence, largely due to the success of Amazon's TV series, and tie-in promotions that gave the game away for free to Prime Gaming subscribers, or at a heavily discounted price to other players. With the game's player base larger than ever, now's a perfect time for Bethesda's latest update to the game, which expands the map and adds several new features.
