There are multiple endings in , but the true ending adds extra challenges and fights. However, finding it can be confusing, as the normal ending can feel like an endless loop.
[Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Dragon's Dogma 2.]
Embarking on the actual ending’s path will lock out many of the current quests. Almost all of them will instantly fail despite regaining the ability to explore the map after beating the game. It is important to finish up any side quests before heading to the final boss and confirming the ending.
As part of the primary quest mission, you will meet the NPC Ambrosius, who will tell you aboutWyrmslife Crystals. These drop from various dragon-type enemies found from around the world. Ambrosius requests that you gather at least 15 for the main questline. However, additional ones can be used as currency to buy powerful items, including ones perfect for the Magick Archer class.
Ambrosius moves around from his starting location. After speaking to him for the first time, he moves to the Forbidden Magick Research Lab. Ignore the protests from the guards that you cannot enter and hand Ambrosius the Wyrmslife Crystals. He will then forge you an Empowered Godsbane Blade .
Once you have completed every desired quest in, head to the point of no return to fight the formidable Red Dragon. Before the fight ensues, they will offer you the chance to walk away but will imprison your current love interest. This is not the true ending and should be avoided.
While it seems like the goal is to fight the final boss normally, this leads to an endless loop without a satisfying conclusion. That is officially the standard normal ending. To get the true ending, you must agree to fight the dragon normally, which will separate the Arisen from their pawns and any gear they are holding. During the controllable cutscene, betray the dragon’s deal by crawling onto its chest and “” the Empowered Godsbane Blade from your inventory screen.
If you do wind up getting the normal ending, reload your cleared file. You will find yourself near the Pathfinder. Speak to her twice, and they will return you to the moment of riding on the dragon’s back. Use this time to course-correct and stab with the blade.
You will now find yourself in theUnmoored World. This is the same terrain as the standard map in, but the weather is bleak and barren. Your main Pawn will advise you to help the various lords of the major towns. This is an entire additional main questline needed to initiate a rematch with the dragon once and for all. But there are also many more side quests and treasures to find in this second portion of the game. If you want to see every ending, we recommend watching this lengthy video by Shirrako on

Dragon's Dogma 2 can be an absolutely brutal game when it wants to be, but one of the most punishing features has to be Dragonsplague. It's a sickness that can affect your Pawns, eventually turning them into disobedient little nuisances that can eventually go on to wipe out entire villages if left long enough. Players have resorted to extreme methods to avoid the spread, including throwing their Pawns into the ocean if they sense a whiff of disobedience.
