Ogerpon in is one of the Legendary Pokémon introduced in the new DLC. It is a mono Grass-type Pokémon with a special one-of-a-kind gimmick that the player is introduced to while following along the story of the land of Kitakami on a school trip. Coincidentally the Pokémon takes a particular liking to the player, making it easy to capture, but much must be done before it becomes yours for good.
The first step a player should take to befriend the powerful Ogerpon of the Teal Mask Kitakami Pokédex is to complete the storyline. Unlike the slight open-world atmosphere of the mainline game, this DLC is much more guided, with requirements and battles along the way. Being aware of what Pokémon to use during each battle should help guide you in the right direction. You should be most careful during the final fight especially because Ogerpon will change its Grass-typing to 3 unique other Pokémon types.
Once the player has finally come to the end of the story where Ogerpon is returned to its Dreaded Den in. However, it wants to come along with the main character of the story. It is also accompanied by separate abilities boosting an individual stat once the Pokémon Terastallizes. Furthermore, it is given a signature move called Ivy Cudgel which changes depending on the Pokémon type Ogerpon possesses with a boosted critical hit rate.
After facing Kieran in , Ogerpon will finally have the chance to battle the trainer. All of its masks are returned to the Pokémon giving it a way to finally use its own Terastallization Power hidden within them. Once defeated it will gladly be caught in a Pokéball of your choice. To quickly defeat Ogerpon keep note of the kind of Masks it uses which changes its typing.
Tackle this hurdle with a Ground-type Pokémon move. The final stage of Ogerpon will be mono Grass-type in its signature Teal Mask form. If the player doesn't want to invest in using different Pokémon during the battle, a strong Poison-type Pokémon will also prove to be the best
