Sony announced that Gran Turismo Sport will have its online servers shut down on January 31, 2024. Additionally, distribution of purchasable items will end on December 1, 2023.
When the servers go offline, features such as Community, Open Lobby, Quick Match, Seasonal Events, and Sport Mode will no longer be accessible. Customer liveries require an online connection through the Discover function in Gran Turismo Sport, so all vehicles with applied liveries will revert back to their original colors.
However, offline modes and already purchased add-ons can still be played after the date. Add-ons include other vehicles, Scape Content Pack, and the Lewis Hamilton Time Trial Challenge from the PlayStation Store.
«We would like to thank the many users of the Gran Turismo Sport online service since its first launch in 2017,» Sony said in a statement. «From here on, we will continue to further improve the online services for the currently available title Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.»
Those who like to unlock Trophies should do so before the servers close next year, as Sony has confirmed that several selected Trophies that require an online connection will no longer be possible afterwards.

If you’re looking for a highly focused console racing sim, GT Sport is excellent, but don’t come looking for a robust 'Gran Turismo' experience. You won’t find it.»
