Nintendo has announced that F-Zero Maximum Velocity is the next Game Boy Advance gaming coming to Switch Online.
The 2001 racing game, which was a GBA launch title, will be added to the service this Friday, March 29.
Maximum Velocity was the third main game in the F-Zero series, after the SNES original and the N64 sequel F-Zero X.
It plays similarly to the SNES game but takes place 25 years later, making it the only F-Zero game that doesn’t feature the series’ most popular character Captain Falcon.
The addition of F-Zero Maximum Velocity will bring Switch Online’s Game Boy Advance library up to 15 games in the west, making the list so far as follows:
Last monthNintendo added Mother 3, the GBA sequel to EarthBound, to the Switch Online library in Japan. Because the game never had an official English translation, however, it remains Japan-only for now.
NES, SNES, Game Boy and Game Boy Color games are available as part of the standard Switch Online subscription, which costs $19.99 / £17.99 / €19.99 for a 12-month individual membership.
However, to play Game Boy Advance games (as well as Mega Drive / Genesis and Nintendo 64 games), players need to have the Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription, which costs $49.99 / £34.99 / €39.99.
