Welcome to yet another week of paying a little for a lot. The Microsoft and PlayStation stores are starting to warm up with a bunch of decent sales events—the pick of which are represented below. I'm also keeping an eye on Amazon for any sign of extraordinarily early EOFY deals as well. Not much doing there. But I'll be ready to holler if and when they appear.

Lords of the Fallen publisher CI Games has announced that it has laid off 30 employees, months after cutting 10% of its workforce.

It's a sad day today, given the closure of Tango Gameworks, producers of the perfectly 9/10 excellent Hi-Fi Rush. That being said, an opportunity exists for PC players to score it in a bundle (which most notably includes Yakuza: Like A Dragon) for posterity and a pittance. Of all the recent dev shedding that's been going on, this one feels especially senseless. Do not sleep on this surprise gem of a game, which is also going for 30% off on PS Store.

As the winds of autumn gather to whip us, like some sort of FromSoftware boss inspired by Devo, games shall emerge as your perfect reason to stay indoors. Admittedly, we're in the dead period of the year, so that means looking back to recent releases and classics of yore. If you do want to keep things seasonal, it's the perfect time to play the discounted Resi 4 Remake and Far Cry 5 below—both of which take place in autumn. Otherwise, just binge a ton of Yakuza games (purely because they're cheap and awesome).

The barrage of TV — and great TV — continues apace in 2024, with plenty of intriguing new and returning shows launching their seasons this week.

Earlier this year, Nacon generated some excitement with the latest teaser trailer for Terminator: Survivors, a new open-world adventure/survival game that takes place after Judgment Day in a post-apocalyptic setting. Second of all, it has cross-platform multi, which means you're much more likely to find like-minded pilots to explode. And lastly, (on the platforms that support it) it provides some of the best wish fulfilment VR action one can buy—for two dollars, ninety-nine.
