Fast-paced bullet hell roguelite game Solar Raiders announced for PC

Korean developer Shift Up first made a name for itself with mobile games like 2016’s Destiny Child, a turn-based RPG, and 2022’s Goddess of Victory: Nikke, an on-rails third-person shooter. Now, Shift Up is throwing its hat into the ring of AAA game development with Stellar Blade, an action game starring a young woman named Eve who is trying to reclaim Earth from an invading alien species. The developer’s first attempt at crafting a premium console experience is already much stronger than I expected.

Publisher Headup Games and developer Dvora Studio have announced deckbuilder dungeon defense game Vambrace: Dungeon Monarch for PC (Steam). It will launch in Q4 2024.

Remember when Ark: Survival Evolved was announced to be getting an animated series with a star-studded cast including the likes of Michelle Yeoh, Russell Crowe, Elliot Page, David Tennant and Malcolm-bloody-McDowell? Anyway, Ark: The Animated Series has now arrived out of the blue, dropping its first six episodes on streaming service Paramount+.

Publisher United Label and developer Odd Bugg Studio have announced medieval adventure RPG sequel Tails of Iron II: Whiskers of Winter for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (Steam). It will launch in 2024.

Publisher Headup Games and developer Bleakmill have announced INDUSTRIA II, a sequel to the narrative first-person shooter INDUSTRIA set in an alternate dimension dominated by a malevolent artificial intelligence. It will launch for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in 2025.

Publisher Secret Mode and developer Sumo Newcastle have announced DEATHSPRINT 66, an eight-player on-foot racing game coming to PC via Steam in 2024.

Ontario-based developer Game Pill has announced HANGRY, a “snack ‘n slash RPG” coming to PC via Steam. A release date was not announced.

The Summer Game Fest returns on June 7th, streaming from the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles. It airs at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET/9 PM GMT and will run for two hours, showcasing “what’s next in gaming.”

Although it may be many months away, players should mark October 26 in their calendars now. Historically, this day holds significance within the community, and developer Arrowhead Game Studios is likely to have something in store to celebrate it.
