We’ve celebrated many anniversaries on the site, and each one we’ve talked about is special in one form or another. Specifically, the games we’ve celebrated are often the ones that have helped “set the standard” for video games to come and are still referenced in titles to this day. But today, we’re celebrating what many have called one of the greatest games ever made from a franchise that is still writing its legend. We speak of Legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time, which turned 25 years old today. The game stands as one of the peaks of video game development, and we will honor it properly.

November 19 was officially the 25th anniversary of Half-Life, one of the most influential FPS games ever made. Two and a half decades! It’s hard to imagine, and it’s even harder to imagine it’s still going strong, as evidenced by recent statistics.

Half-Life, the little-known game about a monorail enthusiast who undergoes the most brutal job interview in history, reached its 25th birthday on Sunday. And Valve was in a surprisingly celebratory mood for a company that is normally as reticent as it is forward-looking. On its YouTube channel, Valve released a brand-new documentary that brought the original Half-Life team together for a captivating chew over its development.

Half-Life came out 25 years ago tomorrow and to celebrate Valve ahve released an anniversary update. It includes four new multiplayer maps, updated graphics settings, and fully verified Steam Deck support. It also includes some new multiplayer models and skins, including proto-Barney and the original design for Gordon Freeman, pictured above.

The hugely-influential Half-Life celebrates its 25th anniversary this week, and Valve is throwing the game quite the party. The just-announced Half-Life 25th Anniversary Update offers a ton of goodies, including “Half-Life Uplink,” a special demo including unique story content originally released as one of those CDs packed with game mags, “Half-Life: Further Data,” another disc released as a game store freebie, new multiplayer maps, updated UI, Steam Deck verification, and much more. Valve has released a new update for Half-Life to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
