Even Zoom Is Calling Employees Back to the Office as Remote Work Era Ends

This discussion has been a long time coming. Since its inception, the term JRPG has been seen as a separate genre from the RPG, often used to identify RPGs that use turn-based combat. Along with this use comes the coming-of-age tropes that were (and still are) popular among Japanese audiences. Fast forward to the modern-day landscape, that term is still relevant and recognizable as a sub-genre of games that even Western developers have dipped their fingers into.

Full disclosure to start off with: the reason I’m not doing a formal scored review of Wrestlequest is because I did a stint of remote freelance writing for the developer, Mega Cat Studios. It wasn’t anything glamorous, but I got the opportunity during one of the lowest points in my life. COVID was in full swing, and I had lost my job. It helped me hold onto a shred of self-worth for a while. I faded off shortly after, but I enjoyed the time I spent collaborating with them.

Videogame collaborations seem to be getting increasingly common and increasingly random. Nicki Minaj in Call Of Duty? Fortnite skins based on Mexican comedy shows from the 1970s? Pentiment characters in mediaeval strategy Inkulinati? Okay, that last one makes sense. But now, a team-up between management game Cult Of The Lamb and co-op survival gem Don’t Starve Together has joined the small club of fun but sensible crossovers. Games about cults and starving stick together, you know, so both games are celebrating each other’s birthdays with free updates.

With the autumn approaching, it's time for information about this year's edition of the NHL franchise to start trickling in. And the first thing out of the gate is course the cover athlete. Last year, we saw not one, but two firsts, with Trevor Zegras making the first member of the Anaheim Ducks to appear on a cover, as well as Olympian Sarah Nurse marking the first woman. While this year's cover athlete isn't a first in quite the same way, it does make this lifelong Colorado Avalanche fan very, very happy.

2011’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was the conclusion to the Modern Warfare subseries, at least until it came back with its 2019 reboot. Unlike the original trilogy, however, the rebooted Modern Warfare series will not be ending with its upcoming third instalment.

One of the more frustrating things about the experience of marginalized people in modern U.S. culture is how rarely you can say what is actually on your mind. In spite of the constant calls to elevate marginalized voices, those calls often come with the unspoken requirement that those voices be polite, and that they don’t make anyone uncomfortable.

There used to be something but now there’s nothing, other than endless dunes covering the ruins of a lost civilization.  The only signs of life are a few shrubs and a dying tree growing above a shallow spring, the last holdouts of  nature in a land that’s actively hostile to survival.  The desert is home to nothing but ghosts and tumbleweeds, and somehow against all hope a single person who just may be able to stave off the creeping sand’s near-inevitable erasure of everything that had been there before.  While the tiny spring can barely be considered an oasis it still provides a place to work from, and with the help of a friendly guiding spirit the young adventurer can start on bringing a little bit of life back to the dying land.
