The first big update, Ghost Galleon, has hit Witchfire. Though the game isstill in Early Access, the update brings a plethora of new content for players to conquer.
The update brings six new classes for players to test and try out to see which caters to their very playstyle. The developers do state that for new players, the Penitent Class might not be the best place to start, as it was specifically designed for veteran players who want to face a real challenge. There are plenty of other classes to choose from though, including the Hunter, Slayer, Shadow, Saint, and more.
The update also features new enemies to slay, which also brings new powerful weapons to slay them with. On top of that, there is a new feature called The Collector, which can be unlocked in the Hermitorium at Gnosis I, and offers players several remedies and different equipment to give them a slight boost while on expeditions. As the player's Gnosis level goes up, so does the amount of available items to purchase within the shop.
Gnosis is a new feature brought to the game that is comparable to the Moon Phase changes in Bloodborne. As players progress and “prove their worth,” their Gnosis level can be enhanced, which will open up new and better items. This also comes with a price, as the enemies within the old areas also become stronger, so be sure to be prepared for the harder battles to come.
Four new small areas, titled Mirages, are also available, which the witch has sealed. The only way to open them is to have the correct Gnosts level and a bit of witchfire, but once acquired, they can be permanently opened to unlock several valuables locked within.
As for larger new areas, there are new Witch Vaults, which are two new hidden dungeons located on each map. While the game usually boasts procedural generation, the Witch Vaults have been made custom to the enemy forces and have different traps placed within its walls. These are not for the faint of heart, as they were curated to be inherently difficult for even the most seasoned of players, so proceed with extreme caution when entering.

Dark Souls is often regarded as one of FromSoftware's best games, but even diehard fans have to admit that the back half is lacking. Between the lava pools filled with copy-and-pasted dragon butts in Lost Izalith and the pitch-black caverns in The Tomb of the Giants, it's clear that the endgame was rushed.
Valve has closed a loophole in Steam's refund policy that effectively allowed players to beat a game before its official release date and get their money back. The company has long had a policy in place whereby users could refund a game, no questions asked, as long as they haven’t played for more than two hours within 14 days. Until now, the refund policy was far more lenient for games in early access or advanced access, but Valve has nipped that in the bud.
