EA Sports FC 24 ‘had over 14.5m active accounts’ in its first four weeks

Like many video game hobbyists, I’ve had dreams of making a game of my own. Before I was even in high school, I had a binder full of designs for a game I had dreamt up, but I never really got the means to even attempt to make it. Programming has always bored me, and I tend to get frustrated with art. Even attempts at small projects to just motivate myself with some visible progress fizzled.

Unity's found itself under fire from the public these past few months—and for decent reasons. In June, for instance, it announced that it would incorporate AI programs into its developer tools, something it didn't really elaborate well enough on to soothe artists and developer fears alike.

Today's Daily Recap video is hopefully the final one before the top Race to World First guilds enter mythic! Dratnos and Tettles begin by discussing the four bosses that have fallen on Mythic Difficulty, with <Instant Dollars> leading the way and smashing through them in impressively low pull counts. Over the next few days it'll be exciting to see how long they can hold onto the lead and if they'll be able to improve on their impressive World 7th from last tier! Liquid appear to be moving towards Mythic soon, as they near the end of their third day of progression and seem to have mostly finished up with splits, though Mythic Plus remains a valuable use of time that they're currently choosing to focus on. Echo still have a few heroic splits and a bunch of heroic Fyrakks to take care of when their third day begins, but they too may be able to enter Mythic by the end of that day. Splits remain a pain point in the Race to World First overall, with Echo's Rogerbrown posting about how he's made it a goal to get Blizzard to take action to get rid of them during the next expansion. Basically everyone agrees splits suck, but actually finding a solution that removes them without worse downsides for either the Race, everyone else, or both!

Though Atlus has yet to officially confirm that Persona 6 is in development, there’s very little doubt in the minds of most people that work on the series’ next instalment is indeed underway, with leaks even claiming that it will launch sometime in 2025. Whenever it does launch, though, Atlus’ parent company Sega believes the series has the potential to see much more impressive sales under the current circumstances.

2023 may not quite be done yet, but the game-of-the-year conversation is already beginning to heat up. Case in point, the Golden Joystick Awards, one of the longest-running video game awards shows with winners being voted on by the UK public, has announced their winners. The big winner was Baldur’s Gate 3, which walked away with “Ultimate Game of the Year” and six other awards. The rest of the winner’s field was quite divided, with only two other games, Final Fantasy XVI and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, receiving more than one award. Some games that seemed to be frontrunners earlier in the year, like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and the Resident Evil 4 remake, only received a single trophy.

Pax Dei announced today that it will be hosting its first alpha test, giving players a peak behind the curtain at the upcoming MMO. Dubbed «Home Valley,» this test will focus on building and gathering and kicks off next week on November 14th.

Spatial announced today that it’s launching a new season of in-house games, releasing several games that will be available to play on web, mobile and VR. It’s also launching games from third-party studios IzyPlay and Zaibatsu later this year, allowing them to be played by users directly from browser. According to Spatial, it plans to launch more titles around the holiday season.

Skybound Entertainment and developer Terrible Posture Games have announced that the visual novel role-playing game, Invincible Presents: Atom Eve, can be claimed for free on the Epic Games Store when the game launches for PC on November 14, but only for Prime Gaming members.
