An anime adaptation of Devil May Cry from Studio Mir is "coming soon" to Netflix, with longtime series developer Hideaki Itsuno confirmed to be acting as a supervisor on the show.
Netflix is currently hosting Drop 01, an online showcase dedicated to the streaming service's upcoming animated shows and movies, including Sonic Prime, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, and more. Although we knew that those projects were going to be showcased at the event, Netflix did have one big surprise in store - an anime adaptation of Devil May Cry.

The teaser for the project was short but gave us a brief look at Dante fighting demons while rock music played in the background, which hopefully is a sign that the tone will be in line with the games. The teaser also revealed that the animation will be done by Studio Mir, who is known for its work on The Legend of Korra, My Adventures with Superman, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge.
The teaser also confirmed that the show has been "created by" Adi Shankar, who is best known for his work on the surprisingly excellent Castlevania anime series on Netflix. That show was praised for its tone, writing, and how it adapted the games for a modern audience, which should all hopefully apply to Devil May Cry as well.
Details on the show are a little slim outside of that, as it seems to still be early in development and is only listed as "coming soon" to Netflix. However, from what we're shown in the trailer, it seems likely that the anime will be adapting Devil May Cry 3, as Dante looks to be quite young and is wearing an outfit that is most reminiscent of how he looked in that game. Well, he's wearing a shirt this time, but the strap across his chest is very similar to that outfit.
That being said, it also looks like Dante is wearing a completed version of the Perfect Amulet around his neck, which means that it could be taking place after the first Devil May Cry. With how weird the series timeline has always been, it's not easy to guess when this is supposed to be, but we're sure to find out soon.

Netflix revealed at a recent showcase that it’s working on several new animated shows based on video games. These include the reveal of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft and a show based on the Devil May Cry series, as well as updates on Castlevania: Nocturne and Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix. Now that the entertainment industry has several proofs-of-concept that games make good shows — the first Castlevania series, The Last of Us, Twisted Metal, etc — it appears Netflix is all-in on making games into anime.
Google did not touch on the specifications of the Tensor G3 during its official announcement, though it spoke incessantly about its computational imaging, video capabilities, and leveraging AI to enhance the final results. Even on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro comparison page, there are no additional details provided on the latest SoC, but we did stumble across information that mentions that Samsung’s older 4nm manufacturing process is being used to mass produce the Tensor G3, not the latest one.

Capcom's ultra-stylish demon blaster Devil May Cry is back again, but in anime form. As part of Netflix's Drop 01 animation event, the streaming behemoth dropped a teaser for its upcoming DMC anime series—the one announced back in 2018—courtesy of Adi Shankar, a name you'll recognise from his work as showrunner and executive producer on another animated Netflix series based on a videogame: Castlevania. DMC is being produced by Studio Mir, of Legend of Korra fame.
Capcom has announced a Devil May Cry anime for Netflix, though a release date is yet to be confirmed. The teaser trailer shows Dante performing some acrobatic gunplay, and not much else. There is also a brief part of the soundtrack which sounds suitably heavy for a Devil May Cry based anime.
Sonic Prime has been going strong for a little while now, and has managed to establish itself as a pretty popular TV series in the Sonic community. A large part of that is down to the character relationships portrayed in the show, as well as the sickening twist at the end of Season 2 which had fans begging Netflix for a Season 3 release date. While we're still waiting for that elusive date to be revealed, Netflix has done the next best thing and released a short teaser for Season 3 to get fans excited.
Devil May Cry is getting a new anime adaptation, Netflix has announced via a very brief teaser trailer. Capcom's beloved action series has always been an obvious candidate for such a project, and this one sounds promising. It's being crafted by South Korean animation outfit Studio Mir (The Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Dota: Dragon's Blood, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and more), and it's being spearheaded by Adi Shankar, who was the producer on Netflix's lauded Castlevania anime.
Netflix has been trying its hardest to make itself one of the “big names” in anime creation and adaptation. You might recall they just released a very successful live-action adaptation of a show featuring some Straw Hat Pirates. Well, not too long after that was released, they announced that they were going to make an anime-style adaptation of one of Capcom’s most famous franchises: Devil May Cry. That’s right, Dante is back, in animated form, and he will be tearing things up like only he can. While this isn’t the first time an animated series with Dante has been done, this one could have legs if it goes well.
