Creative Assembly’s HYENAS Has Been Cancelled

Earlier this year, Kinetic Games announced that its acclaimed multiplayer horror title Phasmophobia would be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PS VR2 soon, though the wait for that has dragged on a little longer than expected. Originally set to come to consoles in August, the release was delayed to October, though Kinectic Games has now announced another delay.

Unfortunately, if you were hopeful to get your hands on Phasmophobia on console, then you’re of luck. This month, the game was slated to be released for consoles, but it has since been delayed. Here is what the developers had to say about the recent release pushback.

Sega's Creative Assembly studio has killed development on the upcoming shooter Hyenas and has warned that redundancies are likely.

Sega recently announced that as part of its efforts to “improve profitability” where its European business is concerned, it had cancelled HYENAS, Creative Assembly’s upcoming multiplayer shooter (along with other, unannounced titles). In the wake of that cancellation, the developer has shared further bad news.

The official Star Knights of the Old Republic Remake trailer that Sony debuted back in 2021 has been made private and tweets about the game have seemingly been removed.

It's no secret that the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic that was announced back in 2021 has been having a tough time of it. The game has reportedly gone through several development challenges, as well as a change of studios, and Embracer Group CEO Lars Wingefors dodging questions about the game's current state has done little to inspire confidence in fans.

Following on the heels of multiplayer shooter Hyenas' cancelation earlier today, Creative Assembly confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that it has made the "incredibly difficult decision to begin a redundancy consultation" that "may, unfortunately, result in job losses."

Sega has canceled upcoming multiplayer shooter Hyenas and some other unannounced titles in a bid to improve profitability.
