In what has to be one of the strangest issues with the game to date, cheaters in Call of Duty: Warzone are now teleporting helicopters into orbit. Call of Duty: Warzone matches are difficult enough to win normally, and situations like this can be near-impossible to overcome.
The cheating problem in Call of Duty: Warzone is well documented at this point. The game's Ricochet security detection system is in place, but there are still far too many plaguing the game, making it more difficult for the average player to enjoy their experience. In recent months, Call of Duty has employed new ways to punish cheaters, yet for some, this clearly isn't enough of a deterrent at the moment. With new updates being rolled out to the game all the time, all gamers can do is hope their voices are heard while calling for further anti-cheat measures.
The footage was captured and posted to Reddit by user WilsonatorYT. It begins with the player firing at an enemy helicopter that is taking off. The helicopter shoots into the sky at an absurd speed, making them essentially invincible from damage in the moment. Then, the clip cuts to the very end of the game, with WilsonatorYT and their teammate last alive in the circle. The cheater from earlier is also alive far out of the map thanks to their helicopter cheat, allowing them to essentially win the game by default. After defeating all of their legitimate opponents, it's understandably frustrating to then be met with this. It seems the latest update to Call of Duty: Warzone did very little to stop these types of cheats from being used.
Understandably, the thread became a place for gamers to voice their frustrations with the game's current anti-cheat system. Many claimed to have been robbed of a win in a similar fashion, while others doubted there will be a rush to fix the problem as long as players continue to purchase the many Call of Duty: Warzone Operator skins. Given the consistent stream of updates, there's no doubt an ongoing effort to fix the issue, but until the rewards of those efforts are felt by the average player, it's understandable for them to be irritated.
As for the future of Call of Duty: Warzone, only time will tell what the developer has in store for players. It seems that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is finally approaching launch, which should provide a fresh way for players to experience the game. Alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the battle royale title continues to receive new content updates, even if the cheating problem isn't quite solved yet. Players will likely have to wait for the announcement of Call of Duty 2024 to get a real idea of what the future holds long-term for Warzone.
