Brewfest Returns to World of Warcraft, With New Dragonflight Event Content This Year

Lockwood Publishing, the British metaverse game company behind Avakin Life, is sponsoring the New Codes digital fashion summit. That comes just after Lockwood‘s support for PlanetPlay, which in turn is supporting projects such as eco-friendly stoves for the developing world.

The road of game development can be a weird one, with periods of regular news being followed by long bouts of silence plus varying levels of access to early builds.  Open alphas, closed alphas, Early Access, and various forms of testing get the game into players’ hands while providing important feedback, but the gathered information doesn’t do much good if there’s no time to integrate it properly.  In the case of Foundry its alpha period went well enough the game was picked up by a publisher, leading to a long period of silence after the Steam demo got pulled last November while the entire game received a full overhaul.  Now it’s back with a huge number of changes, available for the duration of the Steam Next Fest before it disappears again.

Redfall was a disappointment upon release, thanks to its open world which felt - as Ed wrote in his Redfall review - like "playing through an already abandoned live service."

It was rumored earlier this year that Apple will host another event after the iPhone 15 announcement for the new Macs and iPad models. However, the company saw fit to delay the M3 chip until early next year, hinting that the new iPad models will also be postponed alongside the upgraded Macs. It is now being reported that Apple is working on two models of the iPad Air and an upgraded iPad mini 7 with new chips.

With the Wild Blood update arriving October 16th, the Albion Online team has a brand new developer blog on Tracking,  one of the  major new features coming in the update.

Apple has been reported to announce the new M3 chip later this year, and according to updated information, it is also planning to refresh the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with improved mini-LED panels this year. Sadly, it is unconfirmed if the newer versions will be treated to the silicon or if those premium notebooks will only receive a display upgrade.

The next adventure for Warcraft will be announced at BlizzCon, with Warcraft and WoW having the most news this year at the event!

A new month is almost here and that also means a new roster of goodies to collect in the World of Warcraft Trading Post. This is also the second month that features class Transmog sets, this time for the Death Knight, Demon Hunter, and Druid. 

As friends, family and long-time RPS readers can probably attest, reverse Alleyway puzzler Holedown became a mild obsession of mine a few years back. Every spare idle moment I had, I'd be bouncing balls down its infinite planetary mining silos, mesmerised by the vacant stare of its iconic white Holedown worm (my record is still 1090m, in case you're wondering). It's a most joyous day, then (as much as it can be on a day like today), to hear that solo developer Grapefrukt will soon be back with another ball-bouncing beaut in the form of Subpar Pool, which is coming to PC (and phones) on October 12th.

If you want to see how one simple rule change can transform a game, look no further than the recently added Hardcore servers for World of Warcraft Classic. Only available in Classic Era form — that is, the mode that replicates the game (more or less) as it was during its launch phase, before any expansions were released — these servers enforce one feature World of Warcraft never had before: permadeath.
