While I hate to admit it, Diablo 4 is struggling right now. In the wake of an underwhelming Season 1 launch, the Diablo 4 dev team hasn’t quite managed to get the RPG game back on track, and Diablo 4 Season 2 is, unfortunately, still a long way off. In the wake of a video from content creator Wudjio, Blizzard President Mike ‘Qwik’ Ybarra has promised that feedback is being heard, and that exciting “surprises” lurk on the horizon.
Wudijo’s video is simply entitled “‘Diablo 4 bad’ is the new meta – what the game needs,” and discusses the numerous issues that the community has had with the game. Prefacing that he believes “Diablo 4 has a lot of really good things to offer,” he goes on to talk about everything from the game’s lack of content to the amount of inventory space, breaking down the changes Blizzard could (and, in my opinion, should) make.
In response to Wudijo’s August 19 tweet discussing the video, Ybarra replies “Thanks for this video @wudijo – many members of the team reviewed this (and other feedback from players) and we’ll work hard to address the player feedback as we go forward as quickly as we can (and toss in a few surprises along the way).”
Rounding out with “we greatly appreciate you taking the time to make this,” Ybarra’s response has been dubbed a “big W” by several commenters.
While Blizzard has confirmed that loot filters and resistance reworks are on the horizon, things are looking pretty bleak in the woeful world of Sanctuary. Even I, the person who wrote our Diablo 4 review and gave it a 10/10, have struggled to stay engaged with Season 1. All I want is my Twisting Blades Rogue back, because right now I feel like I’m stuck in a rut with my spell-slinging Sorceress – and I’m using the best Diablo 4 Sorcerer build.
If you, like me, have struggled to get off of the ground since the huge nerfs, I recommend trying out some other Diablo 4 builds to see if that helps you out. Otherwise, it may be time to pick up one of the other Diablo 4 classes instead.

At this point in the season, many players have reached most of their goals — builds are coming together, gear has been farmed, and Nightmare Dungeons have been conquered. For many, the final push of the first Diablo 4 season will be to reach level 100, and Patch 1.1.4 provides the perfect time to do so.

Revealed as part of Gamescom's Opening Night Live showcase, Blizzard has unveiled Diablo 4's second season of live content, called the Season of Blood. While it doesn't actually begin until October 17, we did get a trailer outlining what we can expect from the game's next post-launch offering. Diablo 4's current Season of the Malignant began on the 20th of July, and each is designed to last for three months.
Many players were itching for new boss content during Diablo 4's first season, and Season of the Malignant delivered: Varshan the Consumed, a malignant, corrupted being, was introduced to Sanctuary during the Season of the Malignant questline. This raised the question, however, of what would happen to Varshan after Season 1's end — after all, isn't seasonal content temporary? Thankfully, Blizzard has clarified — it looks like Varshan isn't going anywhere! Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher commented on Twitter that not only would Varshan stay in the game, but the five new bosses that are slated to be added in Season of Blood, the second season of Diablo 4, will be getting the same treatment.
Diablo franchise lead Rod Ferguson says Diablo 4 will feature more ambitious seasons than earlier games in the series because it's trying to appeal more to traditional RPG fans as well as action-RPG grinders.
Diablo 4 is one of this year’s biggest RPG game releases, featuring hundreds of hours of content for players to traverse through. Blizzard has been hard at work on improving Sanctuary for fans, and the developer has just given us a first look at the game’s upcoming second season. It’s like they cracked into my skull for this one, as it’s all about vampires, my favorite kind of monster. Vampires aren’t all Diablo 4‘s Season 2 is bringing, though, as a beloved Marvel star is also making an appearance as a voice actor.
Blizzard has revealed Season 2 of Diablo IV, and it comes with a surprising guest star.
