Baldur's Gate 3 players on PS5 say Act 3 is "unplayable" after a new patch

Larian Studios wasn't messing around when they said there was a lot coming with Baldur's Gate Patch #5. The latest update is a 30GB doozie packed with tons of fixes and features., so much so that simply calling it «Patch #5» feels like a disservice to how massive the update really is.

The long-awaited new patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 has finally arrived. Patch 5 makes a handful of bug fixes, design additions — including, erm, dick physics that make for some very realistic naked movement — and also adds in substantial companion character epilogues. And in one companion’s epilogue, Larian Studios cheekily canonized a fan-favorite character that came from a Dungeons and Dragons actual play between the Baldur’s Gate 3 cast. That’s right: Bing Bong the Imp is now officially canon.

Baldur's Gate 3's latest patch is an absolute whopper, coming in at 30GB and including features such as the ability to hide required dice rolls, an alternate Minthara recruitment method, and a whole new epilogue set 6 months after the events of the main campaign. None of that is as important as the discovery we're focusing on here, as someone has discovered that Larian has made legendary community icon Bing Bong canon in Baldur's Gate 3.

The new patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 is a big one — big enough that Larian Studios says you might want to uninstall and reinstall the game, because downloading the update requires a huge chunk of storage space. Patch 5 for Baldur’s Gate 3 is full of new additions, though, including playable epilogues with “some of the most complex writing in the game thus far,” the option to play “a more realistic D&D experience,” and a brand-new difficulty option that’s anti-save scumming.
