All about the fiery explosions on the Sun - know what are solar flares and CME

Years ago I met Charles Martinet at E3. We shot a quick video where I said “It’s a-you?” and he shrieked “It’s a-me!” in the voice. I was so taken aback that I said “Holy Sh*t!” – He immediately took me aside and asked me not to post the video, as it would be inappropriate for children. We ended up posting it anyway, with my swear bleeped out, and it was a cute, hopefully inoffensive bit of fun. But what I really took away from that moment is how much Charles Martinet cares about his fans. He wants to fill their hearts with hope and joy, and not whatever the opposite of those two things is. That may be why we still haven’t heard exactly why he’s no longer the voice of Mario in the games.

With the equinox approaching on September 23, solar activities have picked up again. It is known that during this period, the Earth suffered due to a higher frequency of extreme solar activities due to the magnetic poles of the Earth making a right angle with the Sun. And in the last 24 hours, the Earth has witnessed some intense blows from the Sun. There have been instances of radio blackouts, solar flare eruptions, CME releases, and a possible solar storm that can strike the Earth at any given time. So, let us take a look at what has happened in this brief period and how it affects us.

After the historic success with the Chandrayaan-3, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is ready to embark on yet another momentous mission, this time to the Sun. The mission, called Aditya-L1, will lift off from launch pad 2 of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota today, September 2. It is India's first space-based observatory-class solar mission which aims to unravel the mysteries of the Sun, such as the cause behind Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs), solar flares, solar weather, and more.

The day has finally come! Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is prepared to launch the next space-based mission, Aditya-L1 today, September 2, 2023, at 11.50 AM. After a successful moon mission, the space agency is ready to contribute towards the unfolding of the Sun's environment. Recently, in an interview, former ISRO scientist, Tapan Misra said about the mission that studying our Sun's solar flares and the solar wind is essential to understanding how they affect the weather.
