Alan Wake 2 is on Sale for $33.49 on the Epic Games Store

Good people of the superhero comics community, I’ve kept quiet for 23-and-a-half months and I can remain silent no longer. It’s been almost two years since The Great Gatsby entered the public domain and yet — despite being absurdly overqualified for the job — Jay Gatsby is still not a Batman villain.

Alan Wake 2 has enjoyed widespread critical acclaim and raked in the accolades since its launch in late October, but with the long-awaited survival horror sequel not having charted in October or November’s sales charts for the United States, and there having been no word from developer Remedy Entertainment or publisher Epic Games about how the game is selling, many have wondered whether its critical success has been reflected in its commercial performance as well.

It wasn't long ago that Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney had to announce a significant reduction in the company's workforce, firing 16% of the employees (around 830 in total). The news caught everyone by surprise, as the company's pockets had been filled by loads of revenue generated by Fortnite as well as the increasingly successful Unreal Engine licensing program.

Fntastic, the studio behind controversial game The Day Before, has announced its closure just four days after the title’s early access release on Steam.

Last Thursday, the studio behind “post-apocalyptic open-world MMO survival” game The Day Before launched the game that had become Steam’s most-wishlisted title based on a splashy reveal trailer. On Monday, the studio said it was shutting down and that no more updates will be released for The Day Before.
