5 million people played Fallout games in a single day, with Fallout 76 alone accounting for 1 million, amid the TV show's massive success

Despite the series insisting that the Great War was a global, thermonuclear event, the franchise has only visited several locations in the United States, even in its outing as an Amazon Prime Video series. It isn't as though other locations don't exist in a similar vein to the post-apocalyptic ruins of America, since there are characters from other countries, like Zao from With the mod in the news, it brings attention to other international locations which the post-nuclear survival series could take place in.

An official description of Fallout 3 on Steam has caused one fan to question whether the events of the game are actually happening within its world or if they're all part of a simulation within a simulation. While the events of Fallout 3 contain some pretty mind-bending content, this theory makes those events seem even more meta.

Bethesda has said that issues preventing some PlayStation Plus subscribers from accessing Fallout 4’s next-gen update have now been resolved.

Fallout 5 won't start development until after The Elder Scrolls 6 launches, so we're a long way off from the next numbered game in the series, but the Amazon show has ignited a newfound hype in the franchise. So, the question is whether a third party will develop a spin-off akin to Obsidian's New Vegas in the meantime.

Like so many other people, after I finished the Fallout series on Amazon Prime, I wanted to jump into a Fallout game again. I lived in the Boston area — where Fallout 4 is set — in 2015, when that game was released, so I clocked in almost 70 hours there, but I couldn’t resist the temptation to boot up my favorite game in the series: Fallout: New Vegas. Unfortunately, that was easier said than done.

Fallout has been the watercooler TV show this month, an impressive feat for a video game adaptation. Although Bethesda doesn’t have any new Fallout games to release alongside it, the Amazon Prime series has reinvigorated interest in Fallout, with all its titles seeing notable player count increases. For now, we’ll have to be content with a Fallout 4 current-gen upgrade, but I’ll admit that my mind is drifting to thinking about Fallout 5.

Fallout hype is truly inescapable at this point, with the TV show driving popularity and Fallout 4 even getting its long-awaited next-gen update (even if the latter has been considered rather disappointing by many). One way or another, everyone is trying to live their best post-nuclear apocalypse life right now, and this enormous mod for Fallout 4 looks like it'll enable us to do just that. 

Players who previously redeemed the PlayStation 4 version of Fallout 4 will have to wait a little longer for its free next-gen upgrade, Bethesda says.

The Fallout craze continues to pay dividends for Bethesda. Earlier this week, the studio announced that Fallout 76 surpassed one million daily players across all platforms for the first time since its launch in late 2018. The multiplayer game is one of the top sellers on Steam (and elsewhere), largely thanks to various promotions and offers that have, however, since ended. On Valve's PC platform, the game reached 73.3K concurrent players last Sunday.

Fallout 76 has hit a major player milestone, according to publisher Bethesda.

Team Folon’s Dean Carter, project lead on the highly anticipated mod Fallout London, has opened up about how Bethesda’s upcoming Fallout 4 update impacted the studio, saying the team felt “blindsided” by the move.

The Fallout TV show effect continues. This time, it’s popular mod site Nexus Mods on the receiving end of the double-edged Shishkebab, as its servers struggle under the weight of people rushing to play through the series again - and mod its latter entries into games worth playing, presumably.
