The Sonic cinematic universe expanded beyond the big screen last week as all six episodes of the Knuckles spinoff show sped exclusively onto Paramount Plus. The show has been receiving mixed reviews so far. An audience score of 75 percent on Rotten Tomatoes is pretty great, but the apparent lack of Knuckles in the show hasn't been sitting well with a lot of Sonic fans. Whether you love the show and you'd like to own a physical version, or you don't have Paramount and you're waiting for other ways to watch it, pre-orders for its Blu-ray and DVD versions are already available.
While there doesn't appear to be a release date attached quite yet, multiple versions of physical copies of Paramount's Knuckles show are now available to pre-order on Amazon and Walmart. If you have something capable of playing Blu-rays, and that includes current and last-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles, then there's a Blu-ray of the Knuckles show available. $25.99 for the regular version, or $31.99 if you'd like your Knuckles discs to come in a special edition Steelbook.
If you're not bothered about the visuals of your CGI echidna looking their absolute best, and you also aren't bothered about the packaging your physical copy of Knuckles arrives in, then you can get the DVD of the show for just $17.99. Links to all three versions of the pre-order can be found in the box below. If you haven't watched Knuckles yet and you can't wait for the TBD release date of the physical copies, you'll need to sign up to Paramount Plus to check it out.
If you have never signed up to Paramount Plus before, new subscribers can get a seven-day free trial. If the only show you're interested in on the platform is Knuckles, you can watch all six episodes before that free trial runs out.
Knuckles has stolen back some of the spotlight from Shadow who has been receiving a lot of long-overdue attention. Both the brooding hedgehog and the brawling echidna were turned into Lego Minifigures for the first time recently, their debut sets joining Sonic's growing collection. An incredibly detailed Knuckles statue based on the character's appearance in Sonic 2 also went up for pre-order ahead of the show's debut on Paramount.
Introduced to the Sonic movies in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Knuckles followed up on that debut with a TV show of his very own. A six-episode run that debuted on Paramount Plus and also has a physical version available on Bku-ray and DVD.
Shadow has been getting a lot more attention than Knuckles so far in 2024 and as much as I love the world's most famous echidna, it's with good reason. It has been all but confirmed that Shadow will be voiced by Keanu Reeves when the hedgehog makes his full debut in Sonic 3 at the end of the year.
