Xbox announced the date of its upcoming June showcase and teased a special deep-dive to reveal a new installment of a “beloved franchise.” This announcement has led to a whirlwind of speculation among players, who are waiting for more information about which game Xbox will unveil during its next showcase.
In the past few years, Microsoft has been acquiring a large variety of studios. From Sea of Thieves developer Rare to Minecraft’s Mojang and Bethesda, Xbox now owns some of the most prominent game studios. While Xbox hasn’t officially stated which popular game franchise will get a new installment, rumors are growing about the potential games featured in this Xbox Games Showcase. Fans are expecting the reveal of Gears of War 6. Others expect a closer look at Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War, as well as the confirmation of when Call of Duty games will join Xbox Game Pass. Another game that could get its own showcase is State of Decay 3, the zombie game whose release date remains a mystery.
The latest ID@Xbox Digital Showcase, which aired on April 29, put the spotlight on indie games heading to Xbox and PC. This showcase gave updates on popular titles like Palworld and Vampire Survivors, which will both get massive updates that will bring new content for players to discover. During the livestream, players had the opportunity to see more of various upcoming indie games, such as Dungeons of Hinterberg, Promise Mascot Agency, Hangry, and Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter, among others. Microsoft also confirmed over 20 games coming soon to Xbox Game Pass, includingPalworld Arena, Cat Quest 3, Volcano Princess, and The Rewinder.
