may allow Geralt to zip across the land on the back of his trusty steed Roach but for those players who want to see The White Wolf take flight, a new mod does just that. Throughout CD Projekt Red's sprawling fantasy RPG, Geralt is only ever able to use his horse to cut down on travel times and while Roach is handy in a pinch (and excellent at climbing buildings) it would often just be easier to fly from town to town. In lieu of planes, the Witcher just has to make do with something else.
Over on Nexus Mods, user apokryphos shared their appropriately titled «Rideable Griffin Mount» which does what it says on the tin by allowing Geralt to summon the feathery beast and use it to soar through the clouds. Once the mod is installed, players will be able to purchase the Griffin Bait item from a store and use it to summon the creature. Once it's touched down, users can climb atop its back, walk around at a fairly slow pace, and, at the push of a button, take off with their sword in hand, ready for combat.
To craft the Enhanced Griffin School Gear armor set in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, players must first unlock and craft the base Griffin School Gear.
It's worth noting that the Rideable Griffin Mount mod isn't flawless as many users have complained that certain aspects don't work as smoothly as expected. The camera is stuck a little close to Geralt's back, making it difficult to see the terrain and control the beast with ease. Additionally, some UI elements haven't been tweaked to reflect the new beast as the bottom display is still listed as «Horse Stamina» as though The Witcher had just resumed a normal journey upon Roach.
With all that being said, it does look incredibly fun to fly around The Continent on the back of a Griffin. One of the best features of the mod is that Geralt can still use some of his equipment while he's soaring around, meaning users can select an explosive like the Grapeshot and toss it at unsuspecting targets, allowing for even more opportunities to ambush enemies. The Griffin can even be dismounted while it's still airborne, allowing The White Wolf to drop into any situation with ease.
CD Projekt Red may have recently announced the official release of 's modding toolkit but aside from this, the developer has long moved on from its acclaimed RPG. Fans of the franchise are in luck though as the studio has confirmed it's currently working on the fourth mainline game in the franchise, dedicating the vast majority of its staff to the project. The next game doesn't yet have a release date so the community will just have to stick with making their own fun with new mod creations.

With multiple endings and added DLC, it is almost impossible to know every hidden milestone as you continue your adventure.
