Following the recently announced Tekken 8 roadmap, Bandai Namco has revealed the details of what will be in the next Tekken 8 update. This fits right in with the recent Tekken 8 roadmap, as it said Spring updates would be focused on balance adjustments, which is most of what is seen here.
Tekken 8 launched to acclaim but has been beset by controversies like the Tekken Shop being added post-release, as well as the Fight Pass, cosmetics, and other monetization. This has brought Tekken 8 to an odd point where there are players review bombing it on one hand, and others pushing for the fun meme stage of the Waffle House. One way to bring everyone together, before the new character and season 2 drop, is to help improve the balance and bugs that have frustrated players in some ways.
With the Tekken 8 update notes posted today, it seems Bandai Namco is trying to do that for Tekken 8, at least in part, when this patch launches on May 8th. The patch notes are chunky, and full of a lot of minute changes, but before that is reached, a mention of new items coming to the Tekken Shop is shared: new Ninja Pack and Shinobi Pack outfits available for all characters. Additionally, a legacy costume for Lili and a free avatar customization option for everyone are available. Then a handful of bug fixes are mentioned that should help with rollback processing, and Tekken8's online play, which has been a recent issue.
Following that is six pages worth of balance adjustments, and it promises a lot of tweaks and changes. In this update, they plan to address characters who are not able to showcase their strengths or unique abilities, while in June's planned 1.05 update they will be balancing characters with overly strong moves or combos. Mentioned specifically to be nerfed in 1.05 are Victor, Lili, King, Paul, and Yoshimitsu. June's patch is also planned to «enhance the value of player defensive techniques» so that situations where one player has total control of attacking are avoided.
Characters who have moves adjusted in the 1.0.4 update specifically (and not just as part of the general move tweaks) include: Asuka, Azuncena, Bryan, Claudio, Devil Jin, Dragunov, Eddy Gordo, Feng, Hwoarang, Jack-8, Jin, Jun, Kazuya, King, Kuma/Panda, Lars, Law, Leo, Leroy, Lili, Paul, Raven, Reina, Steve, Shaheen, Xiaoyu, Yoshimitsu, and Zafina.
Players will find that replays before the Tekken 8 update will be deleted from the online data. Thus, if players want to view them in the future, video recordings outside of the game should be made, as they will also be unavailable even if they are downloaded. Character behavior and moves will also be updated in Super Ghost Battle and Ghost Match at the same time.

Longtime Tekken character Eddy Gordo has always been a little polarizing, particularly in Tekken 8, and one streamer has found a way to make him even more of a pain to fight, rising through ranked mode using a script that spams one button.
The Tekken 8 community is getting rocked by a bot that's obliterating opponents by repeatedly mashing one button.
A fan-made Tekken 8 bot managed to obtain an online rank of Destroyer by pressing a single button. Bandai Namco's 3D fighter franchise has fostered a sizable and dedicated community since its 1994 debut, but that doesn't mean all the members of the Tekken sphere can agree on acceptable playstyles. Many players particularly look down on «spammers,» but as one user's Tekken 8 bot has shown, there might be a reason why mashing the same move over and over again is such a popular strategy.
Eddy Gordo was already pretty infamous among Tekken fans. He's always been the lightning-fast fighter who is incredibly difficult to counter, but Tekken 8 takes things up a couple of notches. So, mere days after being added to the game, he became one of the least popular characters to fight against.
Bandai Namco has released a brand new trailer to showcase Tekken 8’s season 1, confirming a new stage, mode and fighter. First off the trailer confirms that there will be a battle balance update released, which will tweak various elements for the fighters, though no release notes have been released yet.
Bandai Namco reveals a new free update roadmap full of content like stages and game modes, while also confirming that Lidia Sobieska will be joining the Tekken 8 roster as the second season 1 DLC character. It's been an interesting road for Tekken 8 since it launched in January to acclaim reviews and bypassed numerous sales milestones. In fact, Tekken 8 quickly overtook its predecessor in sales, claiming 2 million copies sold in less than 3 weeks.
Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 has a busy year ahead, but first, there will be a balance patch this Spring. Before you count the days till it ends, the developer has confirmed that the “first battle balance adjustments” for the season are “coming soon.” Patch notes for update 1.04 will also go live tomorrow.
