Star Wars Jedi 3 confirmed by it’s star, Cameron Monaghan

A new set of viral videos have revealed Disneyland’s latest droids, with Disney Imagineers turning their skills toward making a real-life version of the lovable BD-1. First making his appearance in the hit 2019 videogame, BD-1 was the former droid of the late Jedi Master Eno Cordova before coming into the possession of Cameron Monaghan’s Cal Kestis. In January 2022, the popular droid design made its first live-action franchise debut in episode 5.

Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has received a new patch. It’s not very big, but there are some essential fixes, like for creature and vehicle animations. Furthermore, there’s a fix for the binocular beacons not working when ray tracing is disabled.

Actor Cameron Monaghan casually confirmed that a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is in development. During the Ocala Comic Con event, the voice and motion capture artist behind the protagonist Cal Kestis said, “We're working on the third. We're in the process of doing it right now.” The news comes as a surprise, considering the series director Stig Asmussen, who rebuilt and instilled faith in single-player Star Wars games, recently left EA/ Respawn Entertainment. However, he always expressed interest in furthering and concluding Cal's arc through a trilogy, with discussions of a sequel dating back even before 2019's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was out.

Given how big 2023 has been for gaming on numerous levels, it can be easy to forget that certain titles have been out for several months and were really incredible when they arrived. The sequel to Respawn Entertainment’s epic first entry into the galaxy far, far away, was highly anticipated by fans, and many were curious how the development team would handle the continued journey of Kal Kestis. Thankfully, outside of some optimization issues, the game was great, and many consider it one of the many contenders for Game of the Year. But now the question is, what’s next?

A third Star Wars Jedi game is in the works, according to actor Cameron Monaghan, with the newly-announced sci-fi sequel expected to follow on from 2019's Fallen Order and 2023's Survivor.

Cameron Monaghan, voice actor for Cal Kestis in the Star Wars Jedi games, has said that a third title in the series is being worked on. He was being interviewed at Ocala Comic Con as part of a panel that also included Tina Inlev, voice of Nightsister Merrin, and stated that the development team are “currently in the process” of making the third title.

A sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is in development, at least according to the game’s star, Cameron Monaghan, who plays Cal Kestis. That’s probably not a surprise to Star Wars fans, especially given publisher Electronic Arts recently praising Jedi: Survivor for its “critical acclaim and commercial success” back in August.
