Rockstar acquires GTA 5 roleplay devs Cfx.re

Sonic The Hedgehog is easily in the best place compared to the last few decades. Not only does the character have a set of successful movies, a Netflix TV show that many like, a spinoff with Knuckles coming eventually, and a hit 3D video game that arrived last year, but a new 2D game has many fans excited. Sonic Superstars feels like a return to the old-school style that SEGA built the franchise on, and many are eager to get their hands on it and return to “simpler times.” However, if you hope the team will return to pixel art for future games, you shouldn’t get your hopes up.

Rockstar Games vice president of writing Mike Unsworth has reportedly left the Grand Theft Auto VI developer after 16 years. Unsworth's LinkedIn profile was updated to indicate the veteran developer had left Rockstar.

Two teenagers were part of the hacking group Lapsus$ that targeted Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games and leaked footage of the upcoming GTA 6.

The teenager allegedly behind the GTA 6 leaks from last year was "caught red-handed" in a hotel room hacking into Rockstar after being banned from the internet due to his bail agreement, which resulted from him already being caught hacking into other major corporations.

Grand Theft Auto 6 was announced way back in February 2022—though there's been precious little information since then, bar a series of leaks later in the year. Rockstar Games itself has been hush-hush on the details, only really promising that it 'needs to be something you've never seen before'.

When you put a game on PC, there’s a fun little “risk” you run involving modding. Since gamers realized they could mod video games, they did just that. Sometimes it was simple things like putting in a skin for a character they loved in the title. Other times they would make “improvements” to the game to do things that the developers wouldn’t. Rockstar has revealed that it has acquired Cfx.re, the modding community and team behind FiveM and RedM — two of the biggest role-playing servers for GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
