has launched its latest event, The Jungle Cup, as part of the GO Battle League. While there have been many different events for trainers looking to battle each other over the years, The Jungle Cup is like no other. With an exciting set of eligibility criteria, you must know the best team to use going into The Jungle Cup to have a chance at regularly winning matches.
The Jungle Cup can be entered until April 19th 2024, as part of the GO Battle League. The rewards at the end of each set are the same as with any other event, but you will receive four times the amount of Stardust as normal after every battle. You will also progress through the different ranks in the GO Battle League while participating in the Jungle Cup. While battling Team GO Rocket Boss Giovanni provides a tough test, PvP Go Battle League events are much harder.
Unlike most GO Battle League events in , several eligibility criteria make the event unique. Only eight types of Pokémon can be used in The Jungle Cup, leaving out many of the most common types used in the Great League, such as Water, Fire, and Fairy. However, despite this, you can still use dual types that have one eligible element, so strong Steel-types such as Steelix and Skarmory can both still be used.
Only Normal-, Grass-, Electric-, Poison-, Ground-, Flying-, Bug- and Dark- type Pokémon are eligible.
Finally, two of the most powerful Great League Pokémon combinations, Gligar and Galarian Stunfisk, are also ineligible. The criteria mean you will see many teams and individual Pokémon that you never normally would face off against in the GO Battle League.
For The Jungle Cup, it is important to use a team of Pokémon that complement each other and are super-effective against a wide variety of opponents. If needed, you can switch to a different one with an advantage.
According to PvPoke, the best ranked Pokémon for the event by far are Steel- and Ground-type Steelix.
While not having the strongest attack stats in, Steelix has great defensive stats and is very bulky, which provides an advantage in PvP. It is strong against many other meta types in the regular Great League, and the changes for the Jungle Cup only enhance this. In addition, two of Steelix's weaknesses, Fighting and Fire, will rarely come up in The Jungle Cup due to the eligibility required.
A great partner for Steelix is Normal-type Vigoroth. The Generation 3 Pokémon is one of a number of Normal- types that perform well across the
