Octopath Traveler is Back on the Switch eShop

It's looking increasingly likely that the 2015 Wii U exclusive Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is coming to the Nintendo Switch at some point in the near future. It's no secret that the Wii U was a sales failure for Nintendo, and so the company's decision to port many of the platform's biggest exclusives to the Switch made a lot of sense.

Like the Series S before it, the Nintendo Switch 2 is the worst kept secret going. It’s getting to the point where it’s so unofficially official that even third party manufacturers are casually dropping details.

A pair of recent reports have suggested that Nintendo’s successor to the Switch console — which we, along with everyone else, are calling Switch 2 for now — will have Joy-Con controllers that attach to the body of the device using strong, electronically-controlled magnets, rather than the sliding rail system used by the Switch.

If you're over a certain age, you may remember lugging your console or PC over to a friend's house so that you could enjoy proper local multiplayer, with none of that split-screen malarkey. Well, if you and a friend both own a Switch, you can do that right now with local wireless multiplayer!

Last month, Octopath Traveler was delisted from the Nintendo Switch eShop, but it's back now. The reason for the delisting was that Octopath Traveler changed its Western publisher; previously, it was Nintendo, but now it's Square Enix, the franchise's creator.
