Manor Lords Surpasses 150,000 Concurrent Players Upon Early Access Launch

#DRIVE Rally will launch in Early Access for PC and Mac via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG this fall, followed by a full launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC in 2025, developer Pixel Perfect Dude announced.

Hades 2, the roguelike action-RPG from Supergiant Games, was released in early access on Steam and Epic Games Store Monday. The much-awaited sequel has since climbed the charts to become one of the most played games on Valve's platform this week. In fact, the game has already more than doubled the all-time peak concurrent player count of its predecessor, Hades. Supergiant Games has not yet revealed the timeline for complete v1.0 launch of the game, but Hades 2 is expected to arrive on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles later.

Hades 2 was shadow-dropped a couple of days ago, and despite launching out of nowhere two years after being announced, it has already more than doubled its predecessor's concurrent player record.

Demand for Sea of Thieves on PS5 skyrocketed pretty much as soon as it became available to pre-order on the platform, and only went on to increase from then on, so it’s no surprise that the game’s sales are reflecting that in the aftermath of its PlayStation release.

Anticipated roguelike sequel Hades II was announced back in 2022, and we knew an early access launch was coming sometime in mid-2024, but a specific release date hadn’t been provided by developer Supergiant Games. Between Palworld, Helldivers 2, and now Manor Lords, it’s been a year of games coming out of left field and achieving runaway success.

Medieval city builder Manor Lords was Steam's most-wishlisted game prior to release, and has now managed the feat of transmuting that anticipation into broad enthusiasm and very healthy sales. Not too shabby, considering that it's mostly the work of just one person, Grzegorz Styczeń of Slavic Magic, who has hopefully found time to sleep now and then between fielding bug reports and preparing the game's first patches.
