After a rough launch marred by bugs, performance issues, and even some class-action lawsuits, Cyberpunk 2077 managed to claw its way back into gamer’s good graces. CD Projekt Red has put plenty of tender love and care into the title since its release in 2020, but in a new interview with Game File, Cyberpunk 2077‘s co-director Gabriel Amatangelo claims that the sci-fi RPG is now effectively complete.
“We’re done,” Amatangelo said. “[But] it’s possible that there’s some other little thing that comes in here or there, just because, as you’re kind of messing around with stuff, sometimes you discover something that is not a high risk. Or it’s easy to integrate. Or, you know, some developers have some bandwidth.”
In October 2023, CD Projekt Red announced that a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 was underway. Dubbed Project Orion for now, the game is largely being developed at the CD Projekt Red’s new studio in Boston. According to Amatangelo, this was done to attract new talent unwilling to move to Europe. He also noted that Boston has a bit of a European feel, making it easier for those from the main studio to visit and work when need be.
Familiar faces joining Project Orion include Ryan Barnard, a former game director for Massive Entertainment, and Dan Hernberg, the former head of production at Amazon Games.
The company has also begun work on The Witcher 4.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A sequel codenamed Project Orion is currently in development and was announced in 2022. No release window has been confirmed.

is crawling with interesting Easter eggs and one dedicated fan just discovered one of those secrets can be found as early as the character customization screen. One of the key narrative hooks of CD Projekt Red's RPG is the existence of Johnny Silverhand, a digital reconstruction of the consciousness of an iconic punk rocker who manages to make a home inside the head of protagonist V. Played by Keanu Reeves, the character plays a significant role in the story but those who weren't aware of his existence can get a hint while making a character.
As promised, CD Projekt RED has rolled out a free trial for Cyberpunk 2077 on current-gen consoles. Xbox Series X/S and PS5 players can enjoy five hours of the game until March 31st, 11:59 PM PDT.
The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 creators CD Projekt Red have reported their earnings for 2023 (their fiscal year corresponds with the regular calendar year) and it seems it was a good 12 months for the Polish publisher. 2023 was CDPR’s second-best year ever, thanks to the sales of the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion, which managed to move 5 million copies, which is added to the 20 million in sales for the original Cyberpunk 2077. CDPR has also announced that The Witcher series surpassed 75 million units sold last year. So, yes, if you’re doing the math (75 million for the Witcher, 25 million for Cyberpunk) CDPR has now sold over 100 million games. Not bad!
To say V is responsible for a lot of killing throughout 's story would be an understatement. Alongside dispatching swathes of gang members, corpo-owned armies, and more, V comes face to face with some truly brutal foes, none more memorable than Arasaka's head of security, Adam Smasher.
Baseball season has officially begun: It’s opening day for Major League Baseball. MLB The Show 24, which was released on March 15, celebrated the milestone with an update that went live Thursday morning. It’s, uh, not going well. People on social media and in forums are reporting major issues that make the game unplayable — like frequent crashing and freezing. And then there’s the bugs that are just downright silly, like one particularly funny one that’s causing some players to have big heads and little bodies.
and its anime spinoff may be a few years old but that hasn't stopped the fandom from unearthing even more heartbreaking Easter eggs that connect the video game to the series. While the world of Night City may have already been a popular piece of pop culture before CD Projekt Red adapted the tabletop RPG into a video game, the launch of Netflix's anime further increased interest in the franchise by simply being an excellent, heartbreaking story. Now, one particularly tragic scene has been discovered in, immortalizing the fate of Kiwi.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be available to play at no cost as part of a limited trial over the coming weekend, according to developer CD Projekt Red. The popular game will be free to play for a few hours on current generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony, but not for PC gamers. You will have access to the base Cyberpunk 2077 game — which will need to be downloaded in its entirety in order to access the trial. The Phantom Liberty expansion won't be part of the trial this weekend.
By sheer coincidence, today marks exactly 11 years since BioShock Infinite was released. It was by all accounts a masterpiece – a worthy follow-up to 2007's landmark narrative-driven first-person shooter BioShock. But after two excellent DLC episodes were released, creative director Ken Levine resigned and parent company Take-Two closed Irrational Games. Levine started a new, smaller studio for Take-Two called Campfire Games, later renamed to Ghost Story Games. And then everything went quiet, with Levine rarely speaking publicly outside of a GDC talk about "narrative LEGOs" in 2014.
Final Fantasy 16 could make the jump to other platforms once it launches on PC, at least according to some of the game’s developers. The latest mainline Final Fantasy game launched exclusively on the PlayStation 5 last June, but Square Enix has promised a PC port at a later date. So far, there is no official word on when the PC version of Final Fantasy 16 will be released, but producer Naoki Yoshida recently told fans that it is in the end stages of development and a playable demo should be forthcoming.
