Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to get AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 2.0 upscaling technology, although it won’t be ready for launch. According to the team behind the upcoming D&D-based 5e adventure, you’ll soon be able to benefit from AMD‘s answer to Nvidia DLSS, with better frame rate and minimized performance hiccups.
Not sure what upscaling means? Well, it’s a bit of tech wizardry which renders whatever game you’re playing at a lower resolution, then stretches it to fit your screen. The clever part is that, when stretching that low res image, the upscaler uses information to fill in the ‘blank’ pixels to ensure the loss in image quality is minimal. The benefits of this are many, including smoothing performance and preventing your system from dropping frames when during particularly taxing in-game scenes.
One of the main advantages of AMD FSR is that it supports a wide range of graphics cards, including Radeon, Arc, and even GeForce GPUs. Nvidia DLSS, however, is only available with RTX pixel pushers, with Frame Generation technology reserved exclusively for the RTX 40 series.
So, if you’re keen to run Baldur’s Gate 3 at high resolutions and high settings, or with an old GPU, yesterday’s community update on Steam from the Baldur’s Gate 3 team will have been welcome news. Alongside discussing plans for the game’s launch and its ongoing development work, the team says it’ll, “continue to work on implementing FSR 2.0, but that will be closer to September 6.”
We’re mere days away from the Baldur’s Gate 3 release date, and can’t wait to see what developer Larian Studios has done with the fantasy RPG sequel, decades on from its predecessor. Make sure you check back in for a full Baldur’s Gate 3 review once we’ve had a chance to play through the RPG.

We are nearing the launch of Starfield, as it is easily one of the biggest and most anticipated video games of 2023. This Microsoft exclusive might be coming to the marketplace next month, but fans are already worried it might be lacking. A new data mine was recently reported that has raised eyebrows for PC players. We might find that Starfield is only launching into the marketplace with AMD FSR. To some, that might not be a big deal at all. At the same time, others might be a little more than displeased.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has shown incredible promise in all that’s been shown of it so far, and it looks like CD Projekt RED’s action RPG will finally be able to make good on its potential with its upcoming expansion. And with its launch not far away now, soon enough, we’ll be getting another look at what it’ll have in store.
In the run-up to Starfield's launch, two lead devs from Bethesda took to Discord to hold a little Q&A answering questions sourced from hopeful fans, and the resulting info dump also came with a helpful bit of advice: "Don't get caught with those harvested organs." Just like my grandpa used to say.
It’s August and the only game I’ve consistently played is Baldur’s Gate 3. I can’t stop thinking about progressing in my multiple campaigns, unraveling new secrets and areas, and even determining which character best suits a specific conversation. And as someone who’s unsuccessfully tried numerous times to play tabletop D&D because of a lack of interest, I was initially apprehensive about playing the video game version. Thankfully I’ve never been more wrong.

News on AMD FSR 3 and the company’s Fluid Motion Frames has been thin on the ground, but this may all be set to change soon with the arrival of Starfield. Now, it appears that AMD may be gearing up to push FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 into the world, and that Starfield could be one of the first games to support it.
Being a meaty 25-30-hour experience that will encourage replays with multiple endings, the promise of co-op, New Game Plus, and more, Hexworks and CI Games’ upcoming Soulslike action RPG Lords of the Fallen is clearly not going to be lacking in content, but like with any game these days, that doesn’t mean we won’t get even more of it with post-launch additions.
Baldur's Gate 3 remains at the very top of Steam's best-selling games chart, even though it doesn't look like it will break another concurrency record this weekend.
A studio that handled Baldur’s Gate III translations has apologized after outsourced workers were omitted from the game’s credits. "We take full responsibility for this omission of our freelancers' names and apologize for the effects that it had," Altagram Group founder and CEO Marie Amigues said in a statement. "We would like to thank Larian for allowing us to quickly fix that error and update the credits section. The names of the Brazilian Portuguese translators will be included in an upcoming patch to the game."
