D3 has confirmed it'll be bringing Earth Defense Force 6 to Western shores on PS5, PS4 from 24th July 2024, just shy of two years after its original Japanese release. The release date means EDF fans are in for quite the summer since Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is also slated to arrive on PS5, PS4 on 26th September 2024.

Light novel and anime hit That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is being adapted into video game form for the first time on consoles. Featuring a title that's going to kill us every time we have to type it out — That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Isekai Chronicles — it's a side-scrolling action RPG featuring a bunch of playable heroes.

If you've pre-ordered the Premium Edition for Sea of Thieves off the PS Store, your seafaring quest can now begin on PS5 via five days of early access ahead of the official release date. Making its first appearance on Sony hardware, Rare brought its servers online for PS5 players, allowing them to get started on plundering islands and sailing the seas. This means PlayStation users can play the last few days of Season 11, before the next one starts on the official release date of 30th April 2024.

16 more games are heading to PS Plus through the Extra and Premium tiers this month, and as is often the case, there's quite a lot of variety on show. April's offering is headlined by not one, not two, but three brand new releases on PS5 and PS4: the incredibly highly rated Dave the Diver, the promising Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, and Animal Well. Although technically, ZAU is out a little later in the month, and Animal Well is out in May.
