Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord remake launches May 23 for PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC

Now that the belated “next-gen” Fallout 4 update has finally arrived (nearly four years into said generation), Bethesda has at last offered up and enhanced way to play on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. However, the bar was already set fairly high by the excellent Xbox Backward Compatibility programme, of which Fallout 4 was an early beneficiary: thanks to the Xbox One X 4K patch and then the FPS boost, we already had the choice of whether to run in high frame rate or resolution modes (not both) on Xbox Series X and Series S. At least, that’s the idea. Currently it’s a bit broken on Xbox, but we can expect it to run as well as the PlayStation 5 version soon, and the improvements there are welcome.

ArtPlay’s final update for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Version 1.5, goes live on May 9th for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Nintendo Switch players can expect it on May 16th.

HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed will launch for Xbox Series and Xbox One on May 31 for $29.99, developer Digital Cybercherries announced. Pre-orders are available now via Microsoft Store at a discounted price of $26.99.

Turn-based roguelite dungeon crawler The Land Beneath Us will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam on May 13, publisher PID Games and developer FairPlay Studios announced.

Free-to-play 60-player racing game Stampede: Racing Royale will launch in Early Access for Xbox Series and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store this summer, publisher Secret Mode and developer Sumo Leamington announced. The Xbox Series and Microsoft Store versions are newly announced.

Publisher Enhance and developer tha ltd. will release puzzle game HUMANITY for Xbox Series and Xbox One, as well as PC via Microsoft Store on May 30, the companies announced.

Publisher Serenity Forge and developer Hack The Publisher have announced Centum, an “unreliable narrative-driven adventure” game for Xbox Series and PC (Steam). It will launch this summer.

The version 2.2 update for Honkai: Star Rail, dubbed “Then Wake to Weep,” will launch on May 8, developer miHoYo announced.

Roguelite deduction adventure game The Detective Reaper Invites will launch for PC via Steam on May 25 for $9.99, publisher PLAYISM and developer Shizu Kano Umi announced. It will support English, Japanese, Traditional and Simplified Chinese language options.

The new party-based Soulslike Deathbound has confirmed that it will have versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Deathbound was showcased to the general public at the Steam Next Fest, where its demo introduced the innovative take on a party system in a Soulslike. Now, Tate Multimedia and Trialforge Studio have announced that the action RPG will also be coming to consoles.

BINGOBELL has announced a major update for open-world action RPG KAKU: Ancient Seal, which is currently in Early Access for PC via Steam. Described as a “major remake,” the update includes new character models, a new prologue, new gameplay, and more. The company also confirmed a full release for this summer, followed by PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions at a later date. The previously announced PlayStation 4 version is seemingly no longer planned. A new demo is also available.
